I'm an atheist as of about 2 years ago. I just got to a point where reading on astronomy and other science and being in church since birth that it didn't make sense to me.
I'm not a "angry atheist" who is going to yell at you because you believe. I look at faith as a blessing. I find that people who have good faith in something are generally happy and good people because religion tends to help reinforce good qualities. Kindness, selflessness, and comradely.
