I am (or at least consider myself) a pretty devote Catholic, yet I believe in BOTH intelligent design and creationism (go figure...) I just don't see why they both cannot be true.

Although I do strongly agree that creationism should not be a REQUIRED topic, I do not think it should be a PROHIBITED topic. At our school, we have a 'comparative religions' course, outlining the five most prevalent world religions and their beliefs. If creationism could not be discussed, this class (which was very interesting and taught by an awesome teacher) and others like it, would be no more.

Oh, and by the way, I would like to see where that article got their numbers. I have NEVER had a teacher teach creationism, NEVER have ANY of my friends' teachers taught creationism, and NEVER heard of a local teacher teaching creationism. (This is coming from a school where about 500/700 students in our grade are Christians)

i think the problem is that most of the science world simply believes evolution to be fact, which is of course retarded. a couple thousand years ago they taught that the world was flat, well i bet they regret that that ever happened. oh and im an atheist who doesnt believe in evolution, or the big bang being the end all solution to an impossible universe. (go figure)
