Default If you have questions for a Jehovah's Witness:

If you have any questions at all about my religion, feel free to post in this topic, and i will do my best to answer. Most in my religion don't think that this a way to let people know, but i do. Will answer any question i know. If i don't know, or can't look it up, i will let you know. Thanks.

I haven't really done much research into your particular religion however, I do remember reading something about only a certain number of people are actually going to Heaven and Jehovah Witnesses believe what they believe with the idea that they are going to Hell or something along these lines. Am I completely wrong or am I in the ball park? Could you explain this?

I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.[/

There is this girl that goes to my school, and she claims to be a Jehovah's Witness, and she says that she can't take her picture for the yearbook, what's that about?

The same reason any other Christian beliefs does... because they're supposed to spread the word of God.

Well, as I said before I haven't really looked too much into this particular brand of Christianity so this is simply what I know (or think I know at least) about it.

I know they can't have blood transfusions and various other forms of medical care because they think it might bring about the damnation of their souls. I'm not 100% sure on all the details though.

They also think that only a small percentage of people will actually go to heaven and rule beside Jesus in heaven. Then when the Apocalypse comes about and all the evil is destroyed the rest of the good people will have the earth to themselves ruled by Jesus and this select group of righteous people.

I also know that they reject the idea of the Trinity.

This is about all I know other than the fact that like the Mormons they have not only their own interpretations of the bible but an entirely different bible and this is where a lot of their beliefs come from.

I don't know a lot. But I try to keep up. There's just so many religions and it makes it difficult to follow them all.

So did this kid just come in here, post this and forgets all about it? I mean, there were a few of us that had real questions and he just bailed on us? Way to be an ambassador. (I'm only kidding)

I hear they have lots of strict rules...
In south korea.. where every man has to go to the army...
The Jehovah's Witnesses refuse to join for 'some' reason, and even get in trouble with the law.

Also there is another one where.. They aren't aloud to get blood transfusion..
hm
interesting.

If I remember correctly I think that it's against their beliefs to carry weapons which would make them useless in the military.

Don't you believe something like only 100 people get into heaven?

Well, now that i revisit this forum, i realize that you all don't know anything about us.

We do have our own translation of the bible, but our beliefs are in all bibles.

1. God's Name is Jehovah, Psalms 83:18, King James
2. We believe that 144,000 people are going to heaven, and that is in Revelation 7:4. 12,000 from each tribe of spiritual isreal.
3. We don't join the military because of this scripture: John 15:17-29
4. No blood, Acts 15:20
5. We also don't believe in hellfire, only death, that can be explained if you want, it is just very complicated.

We are christians in that we believe that jesus christ died for our sins. We believe that Jehovah is god, and that Jesus is his son.

Its allright if you think we are extreme, we just believe in following the bible very closely. With over 8 million members i think we are pretty big.

You don't believe that everyone who asks for forgiveness of sin will go to heaven?

That doesn't seem to follow the bible very closely.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that who ever believes in Him shall NOT perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16

Now, if the person has eternal life, but isn't in heaven with God, then that by definition is hell (eternal seperation from God). So then would that mean that those who ask God to forgive their sins basically go to hell?
