Default A question for a christian.

Why is it you think that prayer is so important to you, I have tried to pray many times through out my life, sometimes in excess of an hour, and have never gotten any sensation other than talking to a wall. When I am at church with my friends they all talk about how god speaks to them as they pray, yet all I sense is air. And they tell me that my life will be so much better if I just prayed more, yet I feel my life has gone pretty swell enough with out a higher power.

prayer really only truly works when you've dedicated you're life to Jesus, if you don't believe in Jesus, and you have an attitude like "I've been doing okay so far" then it is going to feel like you're talking to a wall. but after dedicating your life, you don't literally "hear" God talking to you, like a actual voice saying "SON!" it's more like a really strong conscience telling you the answers that you're looking for.

It's all what you make yourself believe.

no, it's not what you "make yourself believe" his friends are not sitting there, making themselves here the voice of God in their hearts. You don't ever hear a physical out loud voice. If someone claims that they have, it has to be a miracle of God, because he doesn't do that.
If they say that they hear him in their hearts, then they're being legit. ask them.

If you can't hear it out loud, how do you know you're really hearing it? It's all in your head if you want to believe in it or not. If a muslim said they talked to Allah or whatnot, you'd say "no you're wrong. That isn't God. Christianity has the only real God" even though it's only been around for like 2000 years or so. I mean Greek Mythology has been around for 4000-/+ years I think, it's been around longer than Christianity, it's all manmade. But it's all what you want to believe you heard or not.

And Secular Humanism/Atheism has been around for about 2 Million years. The Judeo-Christian religion has only been around for 3000-3500 years and Christianity as we know it really wasn't even established until about 300 years after the death of Christ.

I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.[/

Because you don't hear it out loud, but you hear it in your heart, and in your mind, you don't think up the words, that's what I'm trying to tell you,
And i'm never going to tell someone "no you're wrong" because that in itself is a wrong thing to do.

But to accept one God as the true God automatically means that in your mind you're right and everybody else is wrong. You can't say you truly believe in the Christian God and say that Muslims might be right. You do one of two things, either A: You show doubt in your belief in God. or B: You believe that everybody else is wrong.

you misunderstood me,

I DO believe everyone else is wrong, but I'm going to tell them, "HEY YOU'RE WRONG!" you know? I know you've said something along those lines before, like, you're not going to disrespect them, you're going to let them believe what they believe, but still try to show them what YOU believe. and I believe in God 100%.

Most of the time people don't "show" you what they believe, they forcibly insert it down your throat. I find it stupid because christians get in an argument about christianity even though they all believe in the same thing, but they fight about it because one is right and the other is wrong, supposively. It's stupid.

I try not to disrespect other people's beliefs but I do not hesitate tell them that they are wrong if I believe they are. I just don't do so in such an abrasive way as to say "YOU'RE WRONG".

and i agree that most of the time, people take the wrong approach, I TOTALLY agree, I wasn't a Christian my whole life you know!
As far as Christians fighting with Christians, I know it's stupid, I know, but it's what happens. They fight over petty things like, whether or not instruments were meant to be used in worship. Some churches, don't have any instruments, they sing all by themselves, on the other hand, some churches, like mine, use as many people and instruments as possible.

It's how a lot of christians think. I don't think there's an afterlife anyways, no one has ever seen it.
