Does it come down to religion, which allows the white man (woman) to believe that they are suppior to others?

Why do white, or caucasian, people believe they are better than everybody else?

Originally, it was the Europeans that, when they looked upon the people of India, Asia, South America and the Native People in North America, they were the only civilized people, and that God made them "white and superior"

But today people just hate each other, so...

For the people who are racist, they simply can't accept differences. They believe since they are more predominant, and they can't accept peoples differences, they are better.

Well being civilized differs based on perspective. If you read Olaudah Equiano's autobiography he describes how unethical and primitive the white men seem at many points during his time as a slave. Humans can be uncivilized period, and all races have always been that way at some point. Either way, all races contain people that are racist. It's a mindset and it's hard to get over. Stereotypes are wrong, but everyone has them whether they believe it or not. That's not okay, but it's life. Being racist is different. It's just being ignorant.

I concur.

Especially when you had junk science during the 19th Century actually citing that the "black man" was inferior to the "white man" because they lack this or that.

The junk science wasn't attacking people from the basis of religion but from the racism in the individual who was making these "discoveries".

I think the biggest mistake that many people make when on this subject is that there is a difference between being proud of your race and viewing your race as superior. Hispanics can have Brown Pride, Black people (I hate the term African-American because not every black person's ancestry is from Africa) can have Black Pride and so on. Only when a white person has pride in being white is it viewed as racist. Not only by people of other races but within the white community as well.

Don't get me wrong I'm not racist and I despise bigots and any sort of racist view. To judge someone strictly by the color of their skin is the most ignorant thing imaginable. With that out of the way...

A lot of these civil rights leaders and organizations have stepped over the line in recent years. They've put this false sense of guilt on the shoulders of many white people and I don't think it's right. To be proud of being white is the equivalent of being a racist anymore.

I don't discount the injustices that white people have inflicted upon people of other races. I don't try to ignore them and pretend they never happened. What kills me is that I'm expected to walk on eggshells on the subject matter because I happen to belong to the same race as the dumbasses that thought they were superior because their skin was white. Just because a portion of the population may be racist or hold racist views does not automatically mean that I hold those same convictions. That would no different than me assuming that because I read about Mexicans jumping the border into America that ALL Mexicans must be here illegally. That's just ignorant.

I'm proud to be white but I don't view myself as being any better than any other race. I'm not going to apologize to anyone for what other people that happened to fall within my same race, have done. I'm not going to feel as though I had some part in the injustices.

Your accusing ONE RACE of racism is racism too. You're discriminating based on race. So let me ask you, why do you feel the need to be racist?

People as narrow minded as you are the reason for racism. They can't open their eyes and see that people really ARE equal, you just want to keep believing in racism because it gives you an excuse to feel better about yourself.

Seriously, I wouldn't be pissed if you wouldn't have accused only white people of racism.

Do you even realize how many "White" people there are? You can go to Russia, Canada, Europe, New Zealand, and find white people. And you want to tell me they're ALL RACIST??

Go find something better to do with your time.

. I don't know why that was funny. Anyway, each race is built to suit their own environment. Of course, this has changed a lot with all of the mixing of races going on now. I read an article a while back detailing how we would all eventually mix so much that we would become one race because of how often we, as a specie, are moving around and "intermingling". If this did happen, it would take forever, if you consider how vast the gene pool is for all humans. I mean, it'd be something to see. But like I said, people would still find a reason to hate each other. I think the article was in TIME Magazine, but I'm not sure.

That's because minorities are "allowed" to get away with more racism. But the second a white person tries to correct them, they step in the line of fire and are accused of being racist.

That's ridiculous. All races act ignorant. My school is primarily white and a lot of them act crazy and go to detention/ISS/OSS all the time. I have plenty of friends of every race. I'm not going to say that white people act "worse" than everyone else just because that's what I've been exposed to. That's ignorant and it's generalizing.
