Honestly I think that making fun of someone because they are crippled or something like that can be worse then making racist comments. At least people of another racist are perfectly capable of doing the same stuff as you, crippled people are not. It is also harder for them to understand their plight.

I actually agree with you for once floorpuncher. People make all sort of slangs or derogatory statements for white people and it is completely acceptable to say those things on live television or even in a classroom without controversy, but if you say the N word on TV you can kiss your career goodbye. People need to stop thinking of races as Racist, but rather individuals themselves. The worst thing is, is when minority's act like white people owe them for their oppression, like they were enslaved and we were the ones that caused it. Anyways, Judging someone on the different pigmentation in their skin is ridiculous, and generalizing is even worse. Then again, I think some people take racism way too seriously and the media blows it out of proportion most of the time. Last edited by ChrisV1 : 06-04-2008 at 06:55 PM. ![]() ![]() |

The only way I am capable of rationalizing racism into something that would make the least bit of logic is:
People come from different sides of the globe and had bred there for thousands of years, genetic mutations (of good and bad nature) would have been separated, so if in asia somebody had a genetic mutation which increased the size of the left side of his brain and then passed it down through out his descendants while white people did not have such a mutation it would be a fair assessment to say generally asians are better at math then white people. -But thats more stereotypes than racism :/ If a black, asian, white, or other person can do something just as well or better than someone else it only makes sense that he be treated appropriately. |

Well, as a white person I don't feel I'm better than anyone else. Often other races are taught we do, though. This bugs the crap out of me because, as a white person I am often stereotyped as ethnocentric. I'm not saying you're like this, but it seems you are stereotyping quite a bit. But I'll assume you're asking why there are white's who think themselves superior. It's probably societal influences such as teachings of parents or association with people who feel this way. This is true among all races though. Many are taught not to trust other races, or that their race, under all circumstances, are discriminated against. This is also true between genders. While these instilled preconceptions can be true among some members of different races/genders it should not be assumed...and most people who discriminate are idiots anyway (see KKK, IKA...). My town has quite a few white racists, but they're the most red-necked, ignorant wastes of humanity I've ever seen. I don't feel they're psyche is worth dissecting. Let's focus less on the haters and more on progression and growth. Hopefully those people will get weeded out of the gene pool through incest anyways.
