Back in the day, the Christians went around trying to convert Paganistic peoples to their reiligion, why?
I've always wondered Even today, if someone says they're agnostic, a person usually jump down their thoat and bombard them with why their religion is the best Not saying that it's all Christians, only a few Not trying to offend anyone, just asking

The churchy answer is because we want to save people.
Christians get a bad rap for pushing their beliefs and morals on others when in reality, for the average Christian it's nearly the opposite. For every one fundamentalist, there's thousands of normal people who are Catholics. We teach tolerance but at the same time we want people to at least look into our religion.

I know that it's not everybody, and only a few people, but howcome they're not after the Jewish people or Muslims? Maybe because that's been in on going battle for 2 centuraries?
Were the ancient Pagans, and Native Americans naive, when it came to their religions? Wouldn't that be no belief in their religion?

It still happens today though, even at school, people are trying to shove their ways down other people's throat
Why?

we have a whole bunch of non-relgious ppl at our school so we dont have this problem. we have a very very very diverse school so everyone has learned to pretty much accept the ideals of others or learn to leave them alone. i have, however, heard ppl trying to convince ppl not to be religious...which i dont care since i myself am not religious, but its still not right. although not the only non-religiouse ppl at school, the emos and goths are usually the ones that openly hate on it.

Jews and Muslims believe in the same god that Christians do, and as such the desire to convert them is far from pressing. Pagans on the other hand are seen to worship "false gods" or "idols" and as such are going straight to hell.
They were also easier to convert as generally the Christians had more advanced technology (weapons, armor, medicine) and could produce "miracles" for the native peoples to convert them. As to why, the Christians were given the order to go and spread their faith across the lands by Jesus and later by Paul. As to why today, some people probably feel the genuine need to spread their faith, others just do it because it's what they have been told to do.
