It might be buggy as hell and cheap as hell, but it ****ing works!

But, just to belay any doubts, I got it to work.

By "it", I mean running a file that then lets you ship **** to your zune without having to open up the Zune software.

Yeah, but we gave up. I just sat down now and in two-ish hours, got it to work. Not using anything albino and I had done. Also, it does require that you have the Zune software installed, you just don't have to run it.

It runs the Zune software for you in the background. :P

An interesting thing I found with the zune software, if you queue a transfer using my computer and at the same time hit sync, it will actually accept the transfer and become locked.

Now I just need to make it so it queues a transfer, sync-jams the zune, then closes the app. Right now it works manually with me queuing the file while it sync-jams the software, I just need to make it transfer the file at the same time, then the unlockers complete.

Yeah, it does exactly what the user has to do, just automatically so the user doesn't have to. But once I can get it to transmit it's own file, it's done. No more needing to ever do anything, run the program, click unlock, and your zune's unlocked. No one would ever know it actually runs the Zune software, all of it's hidden.

No, we don't need a sync app at all. You run the program, you click unlock, then close the program. Done. You can then transfer things at will using windows explorer.

so youve already made the zune program run in the background? and with your program all the user does is press unlock and your program jams the signal the zune software sends?

Yeah, but people will want a full fledged application. At the very least I like the idea of providing one nice executable that the user runs that unlocks it without anything else being neccesary.

edit: once it is unlocked, it is easy to make a sync app if you base it off of your work with albino, right?

Essentially, it means the zune is now a bonafied mass storage device, besides needed the zune software.

once its unlocked all you need is a copy paste program, dont need to go in depth to wpd calls.

but for people you can always pretend you do to fool them lol

yeah, so we make our own distribution that is a full unlocker (ideally without needing a software install)
