Zune Contacts v 1.2

hey all i made a .net program to create contacts for your zune. i know some people want this feature so i made a solution, basically you choose a persons picture and add there info then it creates a 320 x 240 .jpg that you can sync to your zune. i know this is kinda basic for now but i just started it today and i plan to have a lot more features in it by tomaro so here is the link

ok well i added a good amount of information variables for the cards

also fixed one bugg that caused the save file dialog to appear in the saved card

now to pic the picture you click the default on on the card preview

to change colors just hit the color button

BTW did anyone notice that clicking the display card changes its color :p

It looks nice as a beta version, but there are some things you need to fix to make it look more professional. Such as better labellings of the different components. One thing I would really need before I would use this would be the ability to import from CSV files, otherwise I am not going to spend the time to add any number of contacts.

nice idea ill try and add that in 1.2 i know that would make it much easier and i did make it look a little more professional in 1.1 which i just added

Things I would like different:

A way to label the phone numbers
A way to add in auxiliary addresses (business, second home, summer home)
Custom Colors (#RRGGBB)
It not to delete the text box if you click in it
A way to enable or disable the stay on top feature (a right click context menu?)
Some sort of about screen
A waffle maker

the only problem with adding all that is it wont really fit in a 320 x 240 image, tho i can do everything you mentioned except add auxillery addresses as there isnt enough space and a waffle maker. also i need the program to stay on top in order for it to get the image right because it copies it from the screen almost like a prnt screen function

it would be easy to make a waffle iron, take an old pair of earphones, cut off the buds, and attach to bottom of iron (if it has any, the legs). Sell them on ebay for 10 bucks more than total price for profit. You know what, ill be right back, i need to go to costco and pick up some cheap earbuds... lolz

that is a popular method to do that in vB it seems. But that isn't a problem, since it has to be on top for the user to hit the output picture button or whatever. If you want to be safe just have it go to top for a split second if it somehow magically isn't on top.


Yeah, I realize it is hard to add a lot of stuff into one of those 320x240 images, but worse case make your own language that is done by color :p. Or just make it so there is an option to make it 640x480 that includes more fields.

yea i suppose, i will probably have a better version out tomarro and ill impliment everything you said, except csv files because i dont have any to experiment with




also nurta could you upload a csv file or 2 for me to look at i might be able to intigrate it into my program if i see yours

Alright well i added a lot of things into this version as i got a lot of good feedback on the other versions, and fixed problems and added features that other suggested

EDIT: Wow yeah, this is awesome! It makes it so you can create easily customizable contact cards! This is a really good addition to the Zune's WiFi sharing. I think this deserves a front page!

How about outlook 2003?

Now all we need is zCalender(Zune friendly jpegs that are made from your calender) and zMail(a mail client that outputs your email messages to a folder automatically)

yes im trying to get csv files to be compatable but not having much luck

as far as calender and mail go ill probably get on calenders after this then mail as i do hope to create both

The idea is so that you can keep track of your contacts by keeping a card of their info on your Zune, like a portable rolodex.

when you think about it, you want to give someone your number? Squirt it to them. You want to introduce two friends? Give them the other's info.
