New zBook like program

I'm working on an improvement over zBooker, so far I have the raw converting done, I haven't started on a GUI or anything. I have it set to use Courier (uniform width text) and it outputs in B&W. I of course am using java (haven't gotten started at learning a new language yet) and I'm attaching the source code for the hell of it (and so you can all laugh at my inexperienced coding--I am doing this at midnight). I'm using a couple things that you can find via google (although I modified EasyReader a tad bit). I'm forgetting about ZMA for a bit, but ultimately I plan to tie this in with it (as well as the zSkin manager I'm making soon).

oh, if no one has any objections, once I get a somewhat stable version, I plan to pm squirrelthug a copy of it. The reason is since he has so many zBooks waiting to be converted (300+), and my version will be able to do multiple projects autonomously (given a directory to search) so that he can just run it overnight and in the morning, they are all done. Obviously I have a ways to go still. I haven't pmed him to see if it should work or not, so if anyone has any objections there is still plenty of time.

You need some error handlers, i dont have a folder called pictures on my C:\ drive and all i did was press start and it just exited the program. And maybe put in a folder locater so they dont have to write the address of where they keep the books. just a couple suggestions

Yeah I haven't quite got there yet. I will also add a file chooser so you can click browse. The idea is that you enter the directory in yourself instead of randomly clicking start. I'll porbably set it up to default to My Documents or something (what's the equivalence in Vista?).

OK, I added the ability to put in a background image, I made it so that it only picks out .txt files, I fixed a couple bugs, I made it so you can select it to do just one file or a whole folder. And the most interesting feature I added? It automatically zips up your images (.zip, no .rar) first it zips up each book, and then it zips up all the books together I think it all works, but I haven't tested much.

That's really cool man! You got skillz if you could code all that that fast! I want to try it, but it says the .jar file is corrupt

Do you think I could take a look at the raw code? I won't be able to do anything with them, but just to see what the code looks like for a program like this
