Hey all was messing around inside the zune dlls looking for a way to remove the marketplace menu item, which doesn't seem to exist, but I found out where the default Album art is, and how to change it, so I may change it since hte dafault stuff is so lame.
Once I get mine changed, I'll give the how to on doing it, shouldn't take me too long to do.

Walkthrough would help a lot of people. The H&M team made something like this a while back, but it was never distributed because we thought there would be a lack of interest, and there would have been.
![]() But a walkthrough is exactly what people need. Then they can add there own pictures, instead of downloading a premade pack. More personalization.Good luck. They take forever. :evil laugh: ![]() |

OK so I got it to work, here it is in the Zune Software.
![]() Only thins is though that It's still the same album art on the zune, I tried erasing the zune, but I think it stores them on there from default. I'll look into the zune more and find out where they are stored there too.

OK the walk thru for this is actually really simple.
You need a POWERFUL resource hacker, not the program called Resource hacker, as it doesn't do enough. I use a program called, PE Explorer, but it's got a 30 day trial on it. http://www.heaventools.com I open Zuneloc.dll in the program and then click Resource viewer/Editor ![]() Once you have it open goto the folder 257, this has alot of the images for the zune software in it. Also Folders HTML & 256 have some image sin them too. ![]() Once you have the image found that you want, right click on it and click Save Resource. and save the resource somewhere you'll be able to find it later. It's a .png file, the best software I use it just paintshop pro to edit these. The dimensions are 200x200 on the album art. ![]() After you have the filed modifed, then right click on the item in PE again and choose Edit Resource, when the window pops up just choose the open and choose th modified file you made it will appear on the right, then click ok. and you are done. ![]() Click save as in the file menu to save the zunelod.dll, and then just open The Zune software and enjoy.

I am going to try to look into this this weekend again, been away for awhile, and see if I can figure out how to get it to load these files onto the Zune it's self. I can't imagine it being something to hard, to do, unless these files are stored in the hidden partition on the Zune.

Yeah I figured they might be, but I haven't done a complete reformat since I changed the art work in the zune software, so I am hoping that it might load the art work from the software, when it does an update, when you first add a song, is when I hope it first loads the default album art.

Just some information which might help. Unless I'm much mistaken, the default album art would be built into the firmware. The firmware is encrypted and signed. If you change even so much as a bit, the signature will change, and the firmware won't run.
I could be mistaken, and the Zune could read the album art off the hard disk on the fly, but it seems unlikely to me. |
