The mojopac and ringcube does not require a fresh install. Since it's partly virtualizing the operating system, not the software thus a fresh install is not needed.

You'll have to install the software on top of the virtualized "mojopac" or "ringcube" virtualize OS.

Mojopac and ringcube both have trials. I would've test it out for you guys, but my computer is very slow. It's almost 7 years old. Running the software on windows xp is already slow enough.

Too mojopac doesn't run on windows vista. I'm not sure if ringcube runs on windows vista or not, but I think it won't. Both software are based on the same technology and made by the same company.

Any luck?

well i have yet to be able to try it on a different computer, running off my flash drive, but i made a virtual operating system and installed xp using one of my old xp recovery disks, and it starts up nice. i'll try installing the zune software on it now though and see if it works. I also found that with virtual box, i am able to emulate a perfect windows environment that mojopack didn't notice wasn't the real deal, so i now have mojopack running on my flash drive and i'll try that out first.

I'd LOVE to see how that was done! I've got a couple spare 4GB drives in my desk at home I could REALLY hook up then...

UPDATE!: Well I tried mojopack and my flash drive is way too slow to be able to run it from there. And for VirtualBox to work, it needs to be installed from the computer you're using it on. And we've already ruled out thinstall. So this idea doesn't look like it will be a reality any time soon. Perhaps mojopack on a CD would be able to run faster? But you would have to install zune onto your flash drive and all that before you burn it. I think theres still possibilities out there, but we just don't know of them yet.

Also, sorry I hadn't posted in forever.

This is portable Zune software that we are talking about, not hardware. If you don't understand what a portable application is, go to www.portableapps.com

Wow r u sure u guys want something like this. this seems simpler then the taks i was gonna undertake
i can do it if there are many people who want it. and for everyone info, this is really possible to make--as for the registry, u create a background environment using c++ to either act as a 2nd-dary reg and link the dll to it, or have it add it to the pc reg within the background to avoid admin account problem. so this is people's pic. I can create this project, or i can make a hack where u zune would ask u for a password before use 9to prevent theft)
