Jorvette's External Zune Speaker Mod.
I am going to try and Make Internal Zune speakers and then show you how I did.
What I am using right now is broken 1st Gen DS and I will open up the top to get the speakers from it.
Edit: I just got the DS Speakers out. They are smaller than I thought.
One broke so this mod will use just one speaker.
Edit: The speakers are different than I thought they would like. here is a pic I found of a DS speaker.
Imaging that with no place to put the wire.

The Speakers I took out of the DS refused to work, I can't continue working on this mod.
I will have this thread kept for 2 days if anyone wants to try this. When the 2 days are are up, I ask someone to close it.

oh i did this with a gameboy. (hard because frickin Japs use 3 prong screwdriver)
i had to cut alot of foam out of the zune though. but once i got it in the speaker blew out. it just stopped working. So i just carry around a bop it speaker (just big enough to not fit in the zune)
oh, the other thing is i couldnt hotwire it so i just had an aux plug run out of the wifi area and plugged it in like a headset.

Berty, which kind of Zune, did you use? If it was a 30, would it work the same with a 120 or 80?
I'm thinking about doing this with my sister's old ipod mini maybe. I don't know if there would be enough space though.

So, it definately wouldn't work with an ipod mini. They are small. How much does a used 30GB cost these days? Maybe I could buy one and I could do it with that.

You could always just buy a speaker for it, they're cheap (or you can get some crap ones at Radioshack for 10 times fair market value). You could try using headphone speakers, you would have to keep the volume up, but of course that all depended on how you were planning on hooking the speaker up and such

I do have some headphone speakers that I took out.
Also, is there a substitute to the three pronged screwdriver?
I still want to take apart my old gameboy anyway.

You could try using a flathead, if it's just the right size and you're careful it might work
