Talking with the Zune.

I believe I've found the x-long sync ID sent to the Zune during it's hand-shake introduction between the Zune software and syncing.

I'm waiting for AlbinoTux to get online because he had a USB snoop log of the hand shake, and the means to send commands to the Zune.

I do have his source, just not the snoop log, if anyone has one, send it over. This might be some real progress into connecting with the Zune. I need a full communications log with the device.

Oh yeah, here's the kicker, seems it doesn't change after every sync either, I think it changes periodically.

Got in touch with AlbinoTux and we've definately made a ton of progress.

I think, we should have a working program to connect and sync with the Zune in a few weeks to a month or so. Possibly longer though, since we'll both be suffering under finals soon.

well exactly what progress have yall made thus far, if i may ask? and yes, these finals are going to be a B!tch for us all, unfortunately after finals come and go, i leave for bootcamp June 22 until Aug 27 so i'm hoping to see our zune projects done before then. HOPING!

We're able to mimic about 40% of the hand-shaking conversation between the Zune software and the Zune right now.

Albino's a college student who, like myself, is far too busy to spend time on other things besides school work.

He's only working on this project with me because it's something we both want. He has no affiliation with any other website relating to the Zune, nor any want to join any other website.

- Because it's impossible to do everything in this project without having the menial things like comparing data transfer logs done.

However, I'll let him know that the people at zb expect his confidentiality. He'll listen, he's a decent guy, and he started here first.

If not, rest assured, I haven't told him anything that's within these boards. And this particular project has been a joint venture between him and I, and thus anything we come up with is original work and nothing from any forums.
