Syncing Without Zune Program

Ok, to put a very long story and hours of progress into a single post, here's what I'm doing and what we all should be doing:

1) Trying to artifically sync to the zune / disable the need for syncing
2) (not recommended) Make our own zune driver to change the protocol from MTP to UMS (Universal Mass Storage)
3) Try to get firmware on the zune

Below, I have compiled an EXTREMELY comprehensive .rar archive with all the tools and logs you would need. The logs are very clearly labeled, and there are about 4 tools/4 types of logs that are included. The logs are either in .rtf (can be opened with wordpad (reccomended) or microsoft word) or the logs might be in .html, clearly formatted. I feel that I shouldn't sit on these tools/logs any longer. I hope this can help us get some progress done.

Either way, nice job Marshill. This is just what we need. I think I'm going to make a walkthrough for you that's really in depth so we're all on the same page here.

We should seriously make like a Wiki or something to organize all the info we collected.

But it would have to be a private wiki because we don't want anybody stealing all our info...

Ill download this tomorrow and see if I can help with this, Ive been messing around with WPDInfo and so far ive been able to create files on the zune but only with the zune in sync, im trying to send a command to it enabling write access right now. But so far no luck i keep getting error's, damn thing doesnt even explain wth is wrong.

Ill see what i can do, ive always got friends to help me if i need. But I might not be able to start looking at it until friday though cause i have a busy day tomorrow and thursday.

LedZepp, how is this coming along? Good? Bad? Indifferent? We need to know if any of this stuff is yeilding results so we know whether to drop it or not.

Well, Im picking up Visual Studio 2005 today from a friend because without it i cant do anything to this, and looking from what i have, It should do what we want.
