Zune Contacts (Online Version)

I didn't create the first version, but I read the topic and thought it was a great idea. I noticed that the same features could be accomplished without downloading a VB application. This could be done server side (using PHP with GD). I've done this many times, as I manage my own web server and websites which use similar technology.

The user would simply open the webpage and enter their contact info the same way they would with the program, then they could upload a pic, choose a background (whatever) and the page would process an image and return a download link. The beauty of this is that it could be added to this site itself.

If anyone is concerned with it's ability to load them directly to your zune without having to use the software, I could make a small app where you enter the link to your contact pic and have it download/move it to your zune (via MTP or HDD hack).

Of course, it's existence on this site would depend on whether it has PHP and GD enabled (it most likely does) and for extra features, cURL lib. If this server had that available I could work out a system for automatically importing contacts via hotmail, gmail, yahoo etc.

I would have said this in the other thread but it's locked. And to the other guy who started it, I'm not trying to steal your idea. But inventions are usually improvements of existing things, maybe you want to team up?

Are you saying the Zune would access the website and save whatever it has onto the website? That would be impossible because the Zune doesn't have access to the internet, and never will, according to a lot of threads.
