xbox 360 or playstation 3

which do you like better? you can post why you think one is better below if you want

Alex 11-30-2010 02:28 PM

Playstaion 3 over Xbox 360. PC owns all though.

NYCRJB 11-30-2010 03:01 PM

I think the Xbox is better. the games are much better than the PS3's. The only bad part is that Xbox is not free. you have to pay $50 a year (60 next year) for the online membership. i think its worth it. PS3 is free online

To me, the PS3 has far superior games. All the Xbox has is generic shooters and racing games. With the PS3 you get much more variety and higher quality exclusives.

EDIT:
PC>Xbox>PS3>wacking off>wii

Scott1220 11-30-2010 03:30 PM

I love XBox because of the exclusive games, mainly HALO(who can get enought of halo?) and Forza... Also the 4gb model is very affordable, same price as gay Wii.

But PS3 is more powerful and has a lower fail rate than XBox(though the slim model is said to eliminates RROD)...

The Wii isn't "gay" at all. No need to bash a console because you don't find it interesting. The Wii has a great selection of game, and their exclusives are second to none.

also, Microsoft DID get rid of RROD on the New Xbox 360 Slim............ by taking out the lights.

Legend 11-30-2010 03:40 PM

And now it warns you that it is turning off. even though I havent ever touched a gaming pc or ps3, I will just vote XBox for now.

Let me rephrase that... Gay Wii developers... I mean look at the new Hot Pursuit for wii, 1000 times worst than NFS Most wanted on the gamecube, graphically. C'mon now, also Wii sports is so freaking outdated, you would of thought Nintendo would make a better newer Wii sports. Basically I don't like most of the games on Wii because developers don't take wii too seriously.

Also new slim XBox has better ventilation and a new chip... i Think its called the Vhallahia or something like that which consumes less power, also the XBox will shut down on the second it detects unnatural overheating =) XBox slim ftw

true, Wii's 3rd party isn't all that great, but it's 1st party (Nintendo) titles more than make up for the lack of 3rd party games.

Also, I know the new Xbox 360 is much better and less likely to break (my 60gb didn't even break once) I just wanted to point out how funny it was that they took the lights out.

Arfy 11-30-2010 05:54 PM

You ever played Wii Sports RESORT, Lem? Yeah.

dooglehead 11-30-2010 06:14 PM

I don't own either (my newest console is a Colecovision), and I don't think either of them are better than the other. They both have advantages in some areas, and someone should choose based on what advantages they want. If I were to buy one, I would probably get an Xbox 360 because I know a lot of people that play online games with them, and you can program XNA games for them.

gunnerply280 11-30-2010 06:24 PM

Hey guys, I don't want to start a flame war. I just wanted to know what you thought was better and I wasn't asking about the wii, I'm 16 and the wii doesn't entertain me except Mario and Zelda and other classic titles. I'm just looking for a change in gaming and was looking at the two and couldt decide. This question, though I didn't say it, was for owners of both systems. I know there are pros a cons for both of the systems I just would like to know your thoughts.

Same here. I'm not too interested in the PS3's online, because I don't know many people who actually have one.

You just said PC sucks and wacking off is almost as good as the Wii.

I prefer the PS3 over the Xbox 360. The PS3's games are better. I don't have one, but I want one. Then I will play LBP2 with Randy :zomg:

But overrall, the PC is better.

Scott1220 12-01-2010 05:51 AM

But isn't it cheating that a Thousand dollar PC beat all.... If you get a PC for about $200-300 it would fail easily among XBox and ps3 and wii.

Not just by removing the lights but by actually solving the problem which was caused by not enough ventilation which they solved by making close to half the xbox a giant vent. Also they made it so that if it should get too hot by someone leaving it on in a small enclosed space with little air flow it will shut off automatically before any real damage occurs.

Will it let you save what you're doing or just be like "**** you, I'm shutting off."?

They took the RRoD out, but it'll still RL(ight)oD.

Also, 360 > PS3, The only thing the PS3 has going for it is Blu Ray and Gran Turismo

I think they have better games. The console looks cooler (especially mine :awesome:). I'll give ps3 the fact that they do have better (less failing) hardware, but it IS more expensive and Sony can kinda be an expensive whore...

I know they solved the entire problem. I just wanted to make a joke. I guess that was a bad idea. :o

The PS3 and 360 costs the same amount of money. $300 for the slim versions. Microsoft also charges more for their accessories. PS3 isn't more expensive, it is actually cheaper than the 360 if you factor in the $60/year XBL membership that is needed to fully use the system.

But now every time you renew your membership, you get rewarded in MS points.

I guess them giving people MS points is a small reward for the major ripping off they are doing.

No. Just no. Gran Turismo isn't very good for one. And there are way more games that are better than the Xbox exclusives.

Bellic 12-04-2010 05:26 AM

I vote PS3. In the beginning, PS3 was inferior due to lack of games. But I stuck it out, and I now the PS3 is an entertainment powerhouse. It has the best exclusives (such as Killzone, Uncharted, Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, and ModNation Racers), built-in 3D Blu-Ray player, built in Netflix streaming support, free online play, and of course you have all those multi-platform titles such as Call of Duty. I love my PS3.

Scott1220 12-04-2010 06:23 AM

Grand Turismo? ...Forza is way better imo

I doubt you have even played GT 5 seeing as it came out last week.....

Forza blows.

Does the PS3 have Steam? No.
Does the Xbox360 have Steam? No.

All arguments are invalidated.

Having Steam, Blizzard, Direct2Drive, ImpulseDriven and more...

The PC wins this day.

Not to mention the hardware in the consoles are several generations behind the PC now.

Grab a AMD HD 6870 or a Nvidia GTX 475, and get your game on in true HD resolutions. Period.

Not to mention those addictive Steam holiday sales.

King's Bounty complete was $8.97 during the sale, and it is soooooo addicting. Plus you had other games on sale. Consoles are for the kiddies, time to step up your game to the true level...

The gamer level.

Hell yeah. PC gaming FTW!

I'm not very fond of steam though. I avoid it if possible. I do love the deals and have bought quite a few games on steam but having to have steam open to play the games I bought is stupid and deters me from buying games at retail price on there. I prefer having a physical copy, but sometimes the deals are just too good.

I have a moderate gaming PC. 2.5GHz Pentium Dual-Core, 8800GTX, 4gb ddr2 ram. 19" LCD Monitor. I want to upgrade but don't have the money.

That's normal store price. Steam had it on their Thanksgiving sale for $7.50 for the whole thing on the 28th. I already have TF2 and Portal, but it's still a good price for all of Half-Life 2. I still have to get Half-Life. I really want to play it.

ImpluseDriven and Direct2Drive are the two services that will install locally without requiring a program running to play.

Steam just does it for the whole connected experience plus updates. Nice to chat with friends during a game with Shift + Tab.

Another nail in the console coffin...

MINECRAFT.
