I think it should still be good quality since they started at such a high quality, but in any conversion, no matter what, some quality is lost. I don't have experience with the software, but I would imagine the quality wouldn't decrease all that much.

Video....not so much. I haven't had a problem with audio losing quality but the video definitely loses some of its. they will be watchable

I have ripped a DVD down to mine, the quality was good. A lot better than a TScam anyway It appears that the zune in fact cannot play .mp4's though because the Zune software always goes through a "Converting" before "Synchronizing". Same thing with H.264... I have not tried .wmv's yet though..

Ya, the Zune only plays wmvs. The software accepts mp4 and H.264 files, but then coverts them, and I think wmv's as well if the codec is incorrect, but I'm not too sure about that.

Yet another thing they forgot to mention!

Don't get me wrong, I like the device. Just feel that it needed about another month and more info released to be done right. Very excited about the next firmware and beyond!

Ya, I think everyone is really anticipating the next one, there are a lot of things that can be added and/or fixed.

if its mpeg4 and good quality and u let the zune software convert it, it looks like crap. i have all these family guy eps and they are in good quality and when it converts them its really choppy. so i download xilisoft converter and the crack works great
