I just discovered a neat little trick to make AVI's compatible for Zunes. This is good if you already have a program that converts DVDs to AVI or you want to put those stupid e-mail videos on your Zune. Here's what you do...
1) Open Windows Movie Maker and import your AVI file. 2) Drag the AVI into the storyboard at the bottom of the screen. If the AVI imports as more than one file, move to the storyboard in succession (pretty obvious tip though) 3) Under FINISH MOVIE, click SAVE TO MY COMPUTER 4) Select where you want to save your movie to and give your file a name. 5) On the next screen, choose SHOW MORE CHOICES under the "Best Quality..." option 6) Under OTHER SETTINGS, Video for Pocket PC (Full Screen 218 kbps) 7) Click NEXT and wait 8) Import the new video to your Zune library and sync up! That's all there is to it. Capt Mojo |

Yes, this is a very old way to convert files to .wmv... It's much easier to download winAVI.

I don't really think it makes it compatable with the zune. It changes the format to be compatable with a zune.
It's a very long process though. Anyone ever try putting an hour and a half movie into WMM. It takes like half an hour to split up the files and then like an hour to produce the movie. I'd say its a big waste of time. |

imho this is a good tip now, because the multi-extension doesn't work if you've upgraded.

Anyone figure out how to convert .MOV (QuickTime) formats to Zune compatible?
