Default Uwe Boll is a Genius!?

Anyone seen the Fearnet.com interview with Boll? He basically says that if this petition reaches 1 million he would quit making movies (Which I am sure is just an offhand comment and he would never really quit if it reaches that point.)

The petition jumped frim 18k to over 150k in the week or so since he said that. He just released a video response which is great.

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

As much as I can't stand the guy he is getting himself and his movie more publicity than either deserve. This is a pretty smart move, his movies bomb so bad in theaters that the whole "there is no such thing as bad publicity" thing is 100% true in this case imo. It going to be interesting to see how things pan out between now and the postal release.

So Michael Bay apparently made a response to the video

And as far as his movies go.

Here is the list of his "Epic's"...
  • House of the Dead
  • Alone in the Dark
  • Bloodrayne
  • Bloodrayne II
  • In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale
  • Postal

He also has the following coming out or filming soon...
  • Alone in the Dark 2
  • Bloodrayne 3
  • Far Cry

I don't need him to quit making movies completely. Just stop with the adaptations. Make all the other crappy horror/sci fi movies he wants for all I care.

NO! He must be stopped. I can't understand how someone like him has a directing career. He should have been stopped after the first crappy video game movie.

At first it he was able to keep making movies because of German tax loopholes (which can no longer be used now).

He continues to make money now because when all is said and done his movies are cheap to make, are filmed like a few weeks and are released pretty much everywhere. Between all that and then DVD sales & Rentals (which is what really makes the money nowadays) his films do eventually turn enough of a profit to Warrant going forward with.

Though I wouldn't expect to see him taking the reigns of any popular video game films in the future.

Don't forget Sabotage 1943 or whatever and Zombie Massacre.

Too be honest I have paid good money to see most of the movies he has done and I will gladly give my money to see Postal.

I went to see house of the Dead in Theaters.. After that I never paid to see another of his films. I refuse to pay to see his stuff. But because morbid curiosity and our apparent love for pain my friends usually pay the dollar to grab his films from the redbox ands thats how I end up seeing his Disasterpieces.
