Keeps trying to download old podcasts

This only happens on one of my podcasts, it keeps trying to download old podcasts even though I have marked them as played, Any ideas?

the expn podcast always did this to me and i ended up losing a few that were downloaded and then needed to be redownloaded... very strange how that works. my only suggestion is to unsubscribe and then subscribe again whenever to find out if there are any new ones to download...
