I would go check out your local library. Too bad many of them are still trying to use DRM which rules out the Zune.

Like Swi said, go to your local library. You can use the Zune Software to rip them to your computer.

I wonder if I would actually like books if I could listen to them, it's worth a shot I guess. Anyone know any particularly good audio books?

i personally have listened to 4 of the 5 halo books in audio format. trust me, 12 hours to listen to a book and understand it is fine. it makes it great for if you say.. use the bathroom frequently/longly or like to snack and stuff while "reading"

im currently downloading a learn spanish audio book as well.

personally, i would suggest sci-fi books at least i find them to entertain me.

I listened to "I Am Legend" on my drive from NH to MD and it was worth it...I would suggest scifi as well, but I don't know any specific sites you might want to use more than others...

A really great site is Librivox, where volunteers are trying to record everything in project Gutenberg (sp?) i.e. everything written that is not under copyright. There's a lot more there than you may think. All in mp3 format, and they even offer an RSS feed for each book so that you can sync it just like you would a podcast. Separate tracks for each chapter, usually. Anyway, great stuff, check it out.
