NOTE
I have decided to put my applications (like this) in a compilation application. i will no longer work on this version of the phonebook, i will instead continue working on the one that i ported to my new ZuneTools application. its easier for me to add stuff and whatnot. http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/ope...tml#post387458
Application Name: PhoneBook
Description:
A couple of months ago someone by the name of "Undead" created a phonebook app, although it had some minor downsides, many were blown away.... and unfortunately the thread soon died, as he disappeared. [edit now hes back, but i am gonna continue improving this since it seems he doesnt mind me doing this.]
I have decided to take the application he made, and improve it a little bit, adding these features:
~Numbers first then names, to allow people to quickly read the numbers
~Side scrolling in the numbers list
~Backspace in the add number page
~Quicker splash screen
~Organized Keyboard.
Updated Log:
**12/23/08** -- Fixed invisible "Z", Added music access, Added Preset Numbers File.
**01/18/09** -- Fixed Preset Numbers not showing up, Added In Game Instructions/Controls, Added Resizable Fonts in Number List, Added Wrapping keys/letters, Added a "[mobile]" key to label numbers as cellphones quickly, added section headers, moved add number form near top.
**04/02/09** -- Added More Symbols On Keyboard, New "[Email]" label key, fixed backspace on number label, added side scrolling on labels for Add Numbers section (manual, auto POSSIBLY coming soon).
BEFORE YOU UPGRADE YOUR PHONEBOOK, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU BACKUP YOUR PHONE NUMBERS BY COPYING THEM INTO A NOTEPAD FILE OR DOWN ON PAPER.
the reason why i recommend you do this is because i built a newer build but it had a glitch in it that erased all your previous contacts except for the last one put in. i have recently fixed this glitch, but can not fully say it wont ever come back.
How To Add Preset Numbers (Beta):
open up the phonebook.sln file, and within the "Content" folder, there is a File named "numbers.txt". Theres more in the "instructions" section on the game, and theres a file named "numbersHowTo.txt" that explains more about this and an example of the format.
note that when your making the list, be sure to erase any lines that have nothing but spaces, make sure the end of each line is NOT a space. if you have an excess amount of spaces, it will cause it to not tranfer over to your game, therefore will not have any preset numbers in the game..

lol, awesome. Yea Ive started on it, I have some great ideas for it, like photos, a filtering system, etc.
one thing i've found thru trial and error. if you are compiling this and deploying with a preset number list, you need to make sure that there are no blank spaces after each line. this will prevent the app from loading the preset list and you will have a blank default list when you load it up. hope this helps if anyone should run into the preset list problem i had
