I had this same problem, but the filename wasn't even 40 characters long to begin with (it was 39). I ended up renaming all the problematic files so that they were below 36 characters, and everything worked out fine... don't ask me why that worked.
Maybe because 36 + 4 = 40... with the extra four coming from ".txt".
Rockman87, I had the limit at 128 files. I increased it to 750.
cynthia399, I will get around to that after I fix other problems. I won't change the down button to go to the next page by default, but I might add an option in the menu where you can change it to go to the next page.

I check in a few hours... last night I was busy coding my own game...I'm finnally getting it.
[edit]The Program works great now! Everything is how it should be. However, it did give me an "OutofRange" error... on the 137 chapter book. No big deal though. I'll just leave it off my zune. This is just so your aware.
future request...no hurry though...Would it be possible to make the folders clickable so it doesn't display the txt files until you click on the folder. This would stop scrolling through a lot of files if you have a lot of books on the zune.

Sub-directories work now. You shouldn't give up so easily. If I gave up easily, you wouldn't have a Book Reader that is as functional as it is right now.

To fix that problem, change this line: files = new FileInfo[128]; to files = new FileInfo[750];
I didn't make the folders clickable in the first place because I couldn't figure out a simple way to make that work, but I just thought of a way to do it. It will be in the next version.

Your the best... what would we do with out you. I know how you feel... I spent like 4 hours today trying to get my program to work right. I had to go to a neighbors house, he showed me what I was doing wrong.

I dragged and dropped the KJV of the Bible, that I got from the forum, into the BOOK folder in the book reader. After that I tryied to deploy the book reader onto my zune, but all it says is "build started..." is it gonna take a while or am I doing something wrong.

It should take less than 10 seconds. If it doesn't stop 'building', cancel it and try again.

hey, I don't know how to turn off my zune when this application is on...I only have one book...but I don't know how to get out of it...I pressed the back button and it didn't work...i held down the play/pause button and it doesn't work..
I have a zune 30...I don't know what to do...(hopefully I can resolve this by myself but anybody else have this problem or can tell me how they usually get out of the app?)
