Uwah~~ Asian language support......the one thing that I've always wanted to see from Zunes~ XDDD
I wish Microsoft would just put in more language support already. >__< If they did, who knows, they might sell more. I don't know why they don't do that especially when a whole bunch of other companies do.
it restart on my Zune 80, too. I tried to play a normal songs (no Asian language in the song) and the Zune restarted after 3 seconds or so.
Some things you can improve
- better music selection
- playlist support
- the loading of the album covers is a bit slow
- if you continue to use the Now Playing screen for selecting media, try making the selected album stand out from the rest
- the clock is set for a default timezone
Hope this can help you improving Just Another Zune Player.

Its runs perfectly fine on my 80. It randomly crashed once when I pressed left a load of times (It wasn't moving fast enough! XD) But otherwise perfect.
Hey. Thanks for this player! I just installed it on a zune 80. It works fine for the most part.
Getting the chinese character is relief enough!!!
But there's a lag between the pressing of button and the actual action, so some patience is required. And sometimes, adjusting the volume is not possible... I can't understand why. Half of the songs I can adjust it, the other half I can't. But that could just be something wrong with my fingers...
But thank you so much!
I do have something in mind for the future, playlist ( editing/saving...), artist mode, shuffle, wake up/sleep clock and so on. But I am a bit curious about what MS will do for the next firmware upgrade, presumably in this holiday season. Admittedly, they can do a much better job than I do ( quicker response, sleeker transition...). We will see.
you should make an ability to turn off the screen, like make where if you press something it will put a black overlay on the screen to save some battery life.

In the current version of XNA, they don't give you the capability to do so. For some unknown reasons, MS isn't willing to open up some very basic functions, IMO at least, for example, backlight on/off, real volume adjustmet. We can only hope they will open up more when v1 is released.

The reason is known... XNA GS 3.0 is released as Community Technical Preview, which is similar to Alpha, before Beta. Thus, many features are not in it yet. Microsoft is not obligated in any way to include any particular features this early in development.

I am not so sure.
According to their time table, XNA is supposedly go gold this X'mas, and as of today we are still stuck with this "alpha" version, I don't see how it can come out in time, if a beta version is in deed going to happen. Besides, an alpha version is a feature-almost-complete version.
The backlight problem has been brought up at Microsoft Connect website several times (me included), and the answer is it's "by design" and they don't plan to change that. I just can't understand their logic of moval one of the most obvious and important power-saving feature on a handheld "by design". Well, I don't understand lots of things MS did (or did not do) to the zune, otherwise there weren't be this player ( and this thread ) at first place.

Cheers.
No... The full release of XNA GS 3.0 is supposed to be released during the "holidays", which is speculated to mean around Christmas time. Full, not beta. They have plenty of time to complete it, unless they are understaffed.
You will have to wait and see if they add in that functionality or not. Until then, there is no use worrying about it. It will not change anything.

well i know that it isnt possible yet, but i was talking about making a mockup of it, like have a choice where if its selected all the pixels would go black.
that application has that feature that im trying to explain.
normally if it was a cs file i would try to impliment it for myself (and ask the maker if he would like to use the version, similar to like how i did with undeads phonebook), but its in a dll file and i have no clue how to edit dlls on Visual Studio lol.

That's surely an option, only it won't save any power for you, but could be useful if the display bothers you. : p
You application still continues to crash my Zune 80. are you still trying to fix this small issue.
it loads fine. display my albums just fine, too. But when playback starts it reboots after 3-5 seconds of playback.
What do you think the issue is ?
It sounds just like stantang's problem. I can't really fix the bug since I don't have a 80G, but it runs fine on Johnny's 80G. I am sorry to hear so many 80G have issues with it.
