I agree with you guys that because of the ease of access to the music makes it a different experience, but in my opinion it does not detach emotion from it, I still associate all of my music on an emotional level, it was either something I found or in a more recent case, was something that someone else liked a lot and I found a liking to it myself. I still Hold all of my music on an emotional level, because depending what I'm listening to I can very quickly change moods or whatever. And just because I don't buy them doesn't mean I won't, I'm just poor.
toast, i totally agree with you. All of my music 'speaks' to me. I don't listen to music that doesn't move me in some way. It's just not worth it. All of my music causes me to feel a certain way, and it often helps me through bad times.
Mhmm. And buying it, I guess dependin on the situation for buying, really doesn't add or detract emotionally for me. I know a lot of people say well I'd rather have a hard copy, well, for my collection I have a cd for every artist burnt.

oh and mind you guys I have close to the amount Roe has, something around like 480GB in pretty much every genre. Techno, Dance, Rock, metal, Jazz, Classical, Country, Alt. Country, Rap, name it and I might have a sing in that genre
The definition of an album "bought" is a highly subjective one, anyway - CD, LP, or even a digital download (example: Radiohead or NIN's digital offerings).
And subscription services like Zune Pass cloud this even more - you could have a favorite album that you've been listening to for the last few months, and you don't even own it. Ugh...my head hurts now.
Precisely. Any material you have bought, wether it be like you said, Zunepass, NIN, iTunes, online digital purchase is still something purchased. But this topic isn't disclosing the type of purchase either.
