Epica is amazing. my best description is this: If Heavy Metal, Stringed Instruments, and Pure Awesomeness had a threesome, Epica would be the simultaneous orgasm.

Yes they are that good. feels like "end of the world apocalypse good and evil battle" music. It is delicious.

Lurked around Zuneboards for quite some time, and saw this thread. So I registered.

I LOVE Epica! The Divine Conspiracy is amazing. Big Nightwish and After Forever fan here aswell, and been thinking of trying out Therion for some time. From the sounds of it, I'll have to check them out.

Most of my Zune 30 library is Symphonic metal. Used to love Within Temptation as well, but I dislike the rock tune they're taking lately. Still, their early works are great.

I'll admit that it's the early stuff that prompted my comment, as I haven't heard their latest album. My favorite songs by them are Angels, Forsaken, and Never-ending Story.

Their latest album is still good, it just seems a few songs are too commercial and have little replayability, IMHO. Heck, I enjoyed the two B-sides/demos (Sounds Of Freedom, The Last Time) they released from singles almost more than the actual album.

To be a little more on topic: Favorite Epica songs, Facade of Reality, Mother of Light, The Obsessive Devotion. Like their cover of Replica as well.
