Default What do you listen to that no one else has even heard of?

There are a lot of local artists from around here that people enjoy but people in the next town ovr have never heard of in their lives. I know a lot of people have looked at some of the artists in my playlist and this "Who the hell is this guy?"

so, who are some of the artists/bands that you listen to that you think no one else does?

For me it's

The Business Fairy!

http://www.myspace.com/thebusinessfairy

He is from Jersey, and i'm from KC, so it isnt local but i still doubt anyone has heard of him. I love his songs - he is kick ass at acoustic ska and i dont even like ska very much. check him out

i listen to this band called Spite of Oppposition from Jacksonville, NC. They were a local, unsigned band and broke up about 10 years ago but I still rock their CD on a regular basis.

I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.[/

Daft Punk. No ones ever heard of them because they're French.

are you serious? if your talking about the Human After All and Discovery Daft Punk, then they are VERY well known in the techno scene.

Clotaire K, Lebanese-French hip-hop artist.

Maya Hyena, former band Sirena was a member of. They did two covers and released a Demo with five tracks. Broke up quite some time ago.

King Sunny Ade, king of Juju music. First heard him 12+ years back and enjoyed his music ever since. The film OC and Stiggs has him in it as the two protagonists love his music.

All three I posted on my imeem account if you want to listen to them.

I'm sure there are some people on here who've at least heard of him, but Louis Logic is farily unknown but one of the greatest rappers alive. Also, Nyce, 40 Glocc, Kar-Lethal Brigante are some of my favorite relatively unknown rappers.

anyone here like reggaeton? spanish hip hop!! Although I have no clue what the heck they're saying, I love it anyways (ps. i only listen to christian music so finding some christian reggaeton is hard to do--but i have. if you like it check out: Funky, Triple Seven, Quest, Dr. P, Agostos x3) most of their pages are in spanish so you have to translate them using BabelFish or something. I have my mexican friend translate the words in each song. Good stuff as far as i can tell.

Joking? Daft Punk is HUGE. And I'm not talking Kanye ft. Daft Punk, I mean Daft Punk the most epic house band to ever exist. They've been around since '93 and are still kicking. I don't know where you live where no one else has heard of Daft Punk, but it certainly isn't the Earth. =P

As for me, Names Without Numbers is a good indie/alt. band I like that very few people have heard of.

Just as it seemed the Autobiography were about to make it big, they fell apart. I still love em though, They are amazing. They played a bunch of concerts in Colorado, and were beginning to tour the US when they fell apart.
Myspace
PureVolume
If your at all interested, check out walking with angels on their pure volume, it's one of my favorite songs of all time.

Edit: Btw, it's almost impossible to find their CD, so the only way of getting the majority of their songs is by A. Downloading from their myspace/purevolume, or B. Emailing me.

Edit x2: Incase anyone is wondering, they're classified as Rock/Indie/Powerpop

Edit x3: I believe this is a link to their one and only music video, but my computer is blocking it b/c K9 web protection is retarded, so heres the link I believe:
If someone could verify the link, that'd be great. http://www.brightcove.tv/title.jsp?t...nnel=900483881

Haha, I don't listen to nor do I like that kind of music, but I have certainly heard of Daft Punk many o' times.

But for me:

Moist (maybe not but nowadays they aren't too popular as far as I know)
Tripping Daisy
Uncle Green/3 Lb. Thrill
Brother Cane
Course Of Nature
Days Of The New
Downface

That's all I can think of for now, if anyone has heard any of these please say.

The Bolts - They're a band formed at my current high school. They're really growing fast!

I dunno, have you guys ever heard of that band? You know, that one, with the, the the British guys...was it the Beatles? I'm pretty sure no one's ever heard of them. Oh yeah, those punk guys too...I think they were called Green Day? And that Maiden thing...Iron Maiden!

Hmm...

Be'Lakor
2Cents
ACID
Chaos Legions
Do or Die
Kiss the Gunner
Whole Wheat Bread

PS: If you actually don't know those first three bands I mentioned, I wil hunt you down. I'm pretty sure everyone on Earth has heard of them at one point or another. Hell, I've seen native tribes in South America with Maiden t-shirts.

No Address is another band that's not too well known that is decent, especially for their time.
