Some free high-rez music...

Hope it is cool i post this here. First, thanks ZB'ers for your help months ago when the then new Zune software obliterated my organized music collection and messed up the album art and whatnot. Came here and you guys/gals were already on the case with a solution. Anywho, my little part of the web that does audiophile equipment and music reviews just announced a contest with MusicGiants, as am giving away $250 in music downloads (see www.enjoythemusic.com/contest/ ).

Thanks for letting me post this and PLEASE stop settling for paying FULL price for lossy compressed music. Demand MS, Apple, etc provide DRM-free full TRUE CD quality (or better) downloads.

Interesting, I will have to check this out.

Though I don't buy anything from Zune Marketplace or iTunes Music Store. I buy CDs and rip them to my harddrive for personal use only. I use dbPowerAmp to convert the audio into TAK (a lossless codec) and AAC / Mpeg-4. AAC is only for use on my Zune 80 and Zune 30.

A site that offers lossless music without DRM I will have to take a look at.

Same here, i HATE the DRM stuff let alone the insult to injury paying full price for less than 1/2 the actual music (bit rate). If you are curious, check out my editorials on Enjoy the Music.com (search my name and DRM, you'll see my rants and raves).

Thank YOU FOLKS for helping me when the darn new Zune software messed up 3000+ music files. The Zune kicks the stock iPod in sound quality, it aint even close. The folks at MS just finished their sound studio and it is mighty impressive. i know a guy or two there, they are audio nuts like me, so it is good that sound quality, like uncompressed music (and DRM-free is a plus) it something we can all look forward to.

Check out MusicGiants from this link http://www.enjoythemusic.com/pressre...ts_contest.htm as they have a mix of DRM and non-DRM stuff, and i think we'll be able to go fully non-DRM by years end. Blame the lawyers, not me, though you know there is hard work to get those guys to finally give in to reality.

MANY thanks again, i DO remember those who helped me, as ALL help is ALWAYS appreciated (and you don't even wanna know how long it took to rip 3000 (now 4,500) songs that the Zune software messed up initially after update (and how i felt). You guys saved me!
