Default who likes rap nowadays

i think rap is a music killer i thnk it has no purpose in mainstream other than to brain wash younger kids who follow insted of lead i thnk this whole ne gen is crap i hoped that hip hop would grow but all i see is it in a stand still its not goin anywhere or getting better hip hop from the beggining to 1996 has some of the best music was made i personally turn off the radio as soon as i get in the car
and hook up my zune one way or another i gone as far as buying one of those cassets w/ the jack and a fm trans. just in case lol music today has no good point b4 it did slick rick made good points biggie always had good points just like krsone, nas and a lot of others but i can say some artist form earlier time like common and talib make good music but most other are in it for the money and have no idea y they have the chance to do so and do not know what they are doing to this youth and its newer generations

like ive said for years "rap is crap"
if u agree please say so if you want to argue about ill gladly carry the argument

I'm not a big fan of rap, or hip-hop in general. But I do like a nice smooth rhyme, with a good beat, so for me artists like snoop are great listening.

thats a neat way of putting it.

I don't like rap really at all, there's like two, maybe three songs that I'll like the entire year, but that's it.

I don't think hip hop today is crap, it's just the music on the mainstream that isn't good anymore, there are still great artists in this era(2000's+) like you mentioned, it's just they don't get the attention they deserve, which is what makes people think rap is senseless and pointless. There are still good artist out right now, but they're in the Underground or just aren't played on the radio/TV.

As with other things, Rap has become another one of those things people love to hate. I don't listen to it that often, but I still respect it because it is music. Some of it is just mess, but that's just my opinion. I don't like all of the cursing and whatnot, but that's not in every song. Most people assume that if it's rap then it's full of obscenities and degrading women. But anyone who listens to it will know otherwise. Some rap is actually very deep and poetic. It depends on what you're exposing yourself to. I've heard some Alternative/Heavy Metal music full of cursing and other pretty horrible stuff. Other genres can be just as mindless, but since Rap/Hip-Hop is so mainstream, people love to blame it for some of our problems. It can be just as bad as any other genre.

i agree but think about this the guy who wrote "this is y in hot" came from underground and so the undeground has been compromised and many other have infiltrated it as well so to me the underground has lost its appel to me

I pretty much hate rap from what I have heard, but there are a few decent songs. Normally when I do find a rap song I like it has some kind of rock sound in it. I've always loved Feel the Noise with Public Enemy and Anthrax.

I listen to rap, though I listen mostly to older and/or less known stuff, Mos Def, Lil Crazed, Warren G, for instance. I am very much disappointed in most of what's played on the radio nowadays, rap or otherwise.

Ok, read the original post and knew that you weren't talking about "RAP" you're talking about all this new bull****. Saying any music made by black people is rap is a generalization. I don't like the new black music, the people who listen to it(for the most part) or the people who make it. But i do enjoy actual "Rap"(recently atleast). I'm talking about artists like Biggie Smalls, Ghostface Killah, stuff like that, not Lil' Jon, or any other modern "****** music"(i don't use the n-word as a racial slur, but describing an ignorant, waste of space, drain on society african american, not black people in general)
Can anyone suggest a really good rapper? Not snoop dogg or stupid stuff but sort of classic rap.

Oh, and Asheru, the one who does the Boondocks theme song is pretty bad ass.

Robert, in the future, use the "edit" button on your posts, instead of posting twice.
