I personally don't like rap of any kind. Of course, most people don't like my music either. I'm more of a metal/hardcore rock kind of guy.

I'm not a huge Rap fan but I've been a Cypress Hill fan since back in the day. I'm also a huge Sage francis fan but that's about it.

I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.[/

Here's a youtube video for his song Escape Artist of off his album A Healthy Distrust. Also check out his website. it's for his record label and he's got some other really good artists on there.

So you're telling me that every other rapper sounds completely different than every other rapper? Come on... Beside Sage Francis is so much better than Atmosphere.

yes rappers do sound alike but hip hop artist do have diffrent styles so yes i do think everyone sound diffrent except the stupid Rappers of the new age idk i like atmospherre he is not trying to make a point or anypolitical thing about his music he is just trying to entertain and i think that what music needs to be doing i know some artist use music as a bigger voice and thats fine but when everyone has to have a voice just to make a point it gets old plus idk i like hip hop artist idk what to call this guy i guess just a rapper

Music is a way for a person to express themselves and how they feel. Whether it's religion, politics, breakups, love or whatever else. Music as entertainment is a side effect but not the main purpose behind a true musicians music. That is why rap has always seemed fake to me. Because it doesn't seem to come from the heart but always with the intentions of selling as many records as possible. Granted this is not the case for EVERY rapper but a good majority of them.

There's plenty of good rap music, and plenty of bad rap music, some is stupid and formulaic, some is intelligent and well crafted, some is just fast food music, some is timeless, it's just like any other genre.

Rap back in the 80's was tolerable. The music had inspiring lyrics. But the stuff today is beyond terrible. Not only is it devoid of talent but they all talk about the same things: treating women like garbage, gun violence, hating gays, etc. It's pathetic. Who actually listens to this crap?

Rap/Hip-hop is not all like that today, there are still many good artists out there, you just have to find them now....
It's most likely that those artists who have talent and a good message won't be played because that's not what the majority of listeners want, and that's how it is....

yeah. I like rap when an artist has a real message, thats part of why I hope my friend gets signed, so that he can make a bigger dent w/ moral rap.
