But when I rip Pirates of the Caribbean 'soundtracks' they get listed under film scores
But when I rip Harry Potter "soundtracks" they are listed as soundtracks

Typically a soundtrack is music that is used in a movie that is either taken from a band that has already been recorded or the band records specifically for the movie. A Movie score is usually the music that is played in the background and is usually instrumental. The score is usually the music that is beneath everything else that used to amplify or set the mood for a specific scene.

This is the way that I understand it at least...

I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.[/

Usually, a score is something that was written specifically for that film, tv show, etc.

movie score is usually instrumental and is created for the film......soundtracks are a relatively new thing, at least the use of popular music in movies. movie scores are also usually long, and different parts of them are used in different parts of the film, and theyr usually written by ppl who only write music for film.
