I play guitar, drums, bass some piano and I also do vocals (I think I've stated that before in this thread). I record my own music using a Line 6 Guitar Port and my PC. Here is a link of one of my own songs and a Symphony in Peril cover that I did.

I haven't really had time to sit and record anything in a while but I do play. I can understand what you're saying about listening to music and not playing it. I think that as musicians we are able to view music in a way that most people aren't capable of. We can pick apart a song and look at every aspect of that song and see/hear things that a non-musician might not necessarily pick up on.

All that aside, I really hate limiting myself or bands to labels. I'm not one that will typically break down a band and say "these are guys are Metalcore" or "these guys are MELODIC death metal". It's all metal with very few exceptions. If it's loud, heavy and in your face then it's metal. Who really cares about labels beyond that?

I don't care is a band is Christian or Satanic with their message... all I care about is the way the song FEELS. I don't care about lyrics as much as I care about the overall song and how it's all put together and played out.

I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.[/

in Paradise Lost, the quote thing you used from a movie or whatnot. Through the Eyes of the Dead used it in their EP.

Yeah. When I originally recorded it I hadn't heard of TTEOTD but i probably still would have used it anyways. A lot of bands have used quotes from the Prophecy in their stuff...

you should make the time man, was that second song truly yours? it was realyl good. I mean, the message is kind of the opposite of what I believe, but I mean, the song was amazing. good job man!

I'm assuming that you're talking about Paradise Lost? If so then yes, that song was written, performed and recorded entirely by me.

I would love to find the time but between work and trying to get my business going I just can't find the time. I love writing music but when it's just you having to write guitar, bass, drums and lyrics it takes a lot of time not to mention all the recording, layering, mixing and mastering. It took me over a week to record, mix and master just Paradise Lost. It's very time consuming when you're the only one doing it.

Thanks for positive feedback.

yeah, that's so true. I know what you mean, I mean, it takes forever just to record guitar, but to do it all? I don't know man, i respect that.

I know nothing of this music called metal that contains such bands as:

Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Megadeth, GWAR, Dio, Danzig, et cetera.

Danzig was the lead singer of the Misfits, punk band of the 80s, before leaving for a solo effort. One of his most famous songs under his band name Danzig is the song Mother.

yeah... Danzig has been around for awhile. As Gow said, he was the singer for The Misfits then he went on to form the band Samhain then he formed the band Danzig in like 1988 or something. They are a heavy metal band but there is a lot of blues influence especially in their first three or four albums. He just released a two-disc set that is all rare and unreleased Danzig songs. The first single off that album was called Crawl Across Your Killing Floor. You can find the video on youtube.
