Honestly dude... I still dig the newer Underoath. i know it's far from being metal but from a musicians point of view (I play guitar, drums, bass, some piano and I do vocals) they are a really good group of song writers. It's hard to explain but they are just insane musicians.

I don't care what anyone says but DOWN are the kings of southern metal... end of story

As I Lay Dying is an absolutley insane band. I've seen them twice and I'm also a member of their fanclub.

I also wanted to mention Through The Eyes of The Dead. I saw them with AILD back in novemeber and they were just amazing. I personally like them more than Impending Doom or With Blood comes cleansing.

I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.[/

I've been looking at getting a violin of a cello and trying it out... they are little expensive though...

Demons and Wizards are a little to "fantasy" for me. I'm not much into the whole power metal thing.

i like a lot of metal... however, many of the bands i like are labeled as "fake metal" so here's the real ones:
slayer, metallica, megadeth, black sabbath, judas priest, bury your dead, hatebreed, walls of jericho, machine head

....i HATE Walls of jericho.
that girl can't scream at all....or growl....whatever it is she's trying to do. I don't care.
she and the rest of the band just sucks from a musicians point of view.
and all those OLD metal bands are.....well......OLD
I don't like those guys either. except metallica.....they're cool.

Wow, I started reading this thread in the hopes of you know, finding some new bands. But I was wrong, it's like every band that you'd find at Hot Topic.

Impending Doom, cool guys, music is just not that good. His vocals are good. But it's like "Hay lets hit fret 1, 2, and 3 on the top 2 strings ;D" But i like the guys in it.

But for me, Salt the Wound, A Different Breed of Killers, Suicide Silence, Knights of the Abyss, Emmure, and a few others.
I like death metal, when I feel like listening to something heavy. Otherwise it's good ole Jack Johnson and Andy Davis for me.
