dewd. all the band you formally mentioned are in no way hardcore bands. They may perhaps, have the WORD hardcore mentioned on their myspace page, but that in no way makes them a HARDCORE band. I iwill do you the favor of giving you a good idea of what hardcore is. Only because this false idea of hardcore is skewed completely.

I will start with the familiar.

In DC in the 80's we of course had Minor Threat, Ian MacKaye was in Minor Threat with Jeff Nelson, who BOTH were in the The Teen Idles. (DC, Not LA.) At the same time a young man named Henry Garfield, later known as Henry Rollins was the singer for an amazing band called S.O.A. (State Of Alert)... S.O.A also included members of the DC hardcore band Faith and later Embrace (post punk) Any how, You should check out the Discord years in 12'' records. They are all on CD now i think.
In NY there were bands like Youth Of Today, Agnostic Front, Judge, Side By Side, and of course Sick Of It All. Today these bands are still mentioned but hardly appreciated.
In Boston (see the "this is boston, not LA" Comp.)
bands such as SSD, Jerrys Kids, Gang Green, Negative FX , ect.

That is a VERY brief history of hardcore.

Bands that i concider hardcore now? or recently?

DS 13
Deathreat
The first few Poison Idea 7''s (not recent, but still jocked)
Los Crudos
Infest
Charles Bronson
Tragedy
Talk Is Poison
Spazz

Ok, so some of those bands haven't put out records for a few years, but at least they aren't named after a movie with Meryl Streep as the lead role.

AND i didnt didnt name drop nay bands that im friends with so you would get a clear idea of what hardocre to someone who has payed attention to it for 15 years feels,,,

Incomprehensible.
I salute you, Fieldman, for attempting to translate this incoherent bull**** and make an argument when IE3I STEVO butchers the English language faster than I've ever seen.
Here's a tip, Stevo: go back to school. That's the worst grammar I've ever seen. My eyes bled and my brain died when I tried to read that.

Having lived thru the punk era and seen live bands like Minor Threat,The Bad Brains,Black Flag,Fear, and many others that were here an gone.I can tell you Stevo that none of the bands that you mention are hardcore. They may play hard and have a hard edge to them but not hardcore.Check this movie out for a breif history lesson on hardcore http://www.sonyclassics.com/americanhardcore/ . I mean no disrespect to you brother. like what you like and love what you love. If the music means something to you and it moves you then by all means listen to it.Let no one tell you its lame.

I think we all need to calm down, this thread was originally intended to see what different "hardcore" bands we like. If someone thinks a certain band is hardcore for them, then its hardcore for "them", even if you disagree. Also his grammer wasnt that bad, its not as bad as some of the other people on here.
