It may seem a tad bit odd to say that you are proud for seeing a certain movie, but there are a couple films that I have seen that in my honest opinion come with a sort of bonus point.
Amazing "epics" that I have scene and am proud of watching are
The Russian Ark (3 hour long movie done in ONE take with 4000 or so people. A work of art)
Citizen Kane (regarded as the greatest film ever made.)
Metropolis (nothing all that significant other than 25% percent of it lost forever, VERY good movie though.)
The animation show (don't know what year, but it is fantastic just awhole bunch of little shorts from various people, including david hertzefeld, and some other ones.)
These are just what I consider to be the best of the "bonus point movies" that I have watched. There are many more, but these are the ones that I am most fond of. What about you guys? Are there any bonus point movies that you are proud of seeing?

Lol, that can definantly be said about that movie. I suppose that I would also like to add the whole "downtown" series that was put out on mtv. SOO sad that they never continued it. It was phenominal.
This goes along with mystery science theatre 3000. Great series.

ben hur.... my mom made me sit through that over four (or seven) hour movie. bad when i was watching, but sorta happy i did.
gone with the wind, casablanca, the birds, (someone?) goes to washinton. other examples of mom's forcing. ditto the above.
dead man walking. we watched it in class, and i was the only girl to watch it till the very end. they execute the lead guy (sean penn) by poison. nice

I was talking about movies that not many other people have watched...Or ones that have some significance other than the fact that they made a lot of money. I mean...The dark night? It was good yes, but why would you feel proud? This especially goes for the last samurai...LoL.

he's trying to say that since it is possible the stories have been true, it will be equal to watching a historic movie. justananomaly, freemind means stuff like citizen kane. great old serious stuff that people don't normally watch. i don't think your movies fit the bill. that said, does Psycho count?

I was thinking of watching 3-iron, but then there was a part of me that decided I didn't want to watch a love story. as for a clockwork orange. Hell yeah!

Rhapsody in August. Japanese film about 4 kids and their grandma, and their loss of their grandpa in the bombing of hiroshima and nagasaki... really good, made in the 80s by some famous director whose name i forget. oh and the outsiders.

I have yet to see Gran Torino, but from what i here it is quite an astonishing film. As for other films that I have recently thought about being super awesome. The movie Brick, as well as the movie Primer. Both of these were relatively low budget, and they did some amazing things.
