The new George A Romero movie "Diary of The Dead"? I've heard that it's supposed to be the best Romero zombie flick out of all of them but that's a bold statement considering Dawn of The Dead.

No dude, but I've seen 28 Weeks Later and I want my time back. Although the helicopter scene was tight. Have you seen Black Sheep? Apparently it involves zombie human/sheep hybrids and it sucks ass =D

It about these people that are trying to make their own independent horror movie and then the zombie apocalypse happens and it's all documented by their cameras in "Cannibal Holocaust/Blair Witch/Cloverfiled" tradition.
28 Weeks Later was not as good as 28 Days but it was still a really good zombie flick. I have seen Black Sheep every time I go to Wal-Mart and I always pick it up but then I put it back at the last minute. I should go buy it tomorrow... I think I will actaully... tomorrow is payday!

So I finally got my hands on Diary of The Dead. I've been waiting for this movie for over a year when I first heard that Romero was making another Zombie flick. I have to say that it's quite possibly one of the best zombie movies I have ever seen but for different reasons. I'm usually happy to watch zombie rip people apart and could care less less about character development or the story line. Diary of the Dead is a very deep and insightful look into humanity or the lack thereof in people. It's not so much a horror movie as it is a social statement about the fate of the human race. This has always been the case for George A Romero and his zombie films but the socio-political agendas have always been very buried within the movie. Hidden underneath layers of violence and terror, this is not the case with Diary of The Dead.
The movie explores the very sadistic and sometimes, violent ways that human beings interact with each others. The concepts that are laid out in this movie are more terrifying than any movie monster or bogeyman you could create. It's a very sad glimpse at our true nature.. I highly recommend this movie. i give it a 9 out of ten stars only because the acting wasn't all that great...
