Back when I was about 8, this movie scared me so badly, it's not even funny

I now hate clowns

What about you?

Yeah it was-
back in the day

Now, I laugh at the clown when I watch it.

Whether it's supposed to be funny, or terrifying

This movie was scary as hell when I was younger. I haven't watched it in years. Not creeped out by clowns though. (Have you seen Killer Klowns from Outer Space? Classic funny movie.)

i saw it when i was around eleven. I think. It wasn't that scary at all actually. I was like "who the hell does this clown think he is?"
But yeah, I've heard a lot of people say that it was scary before.

to be completely honest... I never saw the movie until after I read the book. I'm a huge horror fan whether it be movies, books, pictures, graphic novels, etc... so it takes a lot to scare me but the book IT by Stephen King scared the **** out of me so badly. I was very leary of being around sinks for quite a few weeks after reading that book.

So based on the book I found the movie not only to be cheesy but I consider it an abomination.

I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.[/

I'm in the middle of reading the book right now

The movie had to be television friendly, so it can super scary, or else a ton would have been cut out on TV

Even if the movie does suck, it helps me visualize the characters better

If you've never seen it before, and are easily scared, or under the age of 12, it's scary.

Other than that, it's more of corny comical scary

I suggest the book instead if you're looking for scary

The book is truly terrifying. I've read almost every Stephen King book and it is by far his best work (a close second would be the Stand). The movie really has nothing to do with the book at all. They took the characters names and made a very, very loose adaptation of the main story line and made it into a four hour (or was it longer?) steaming pile of crap. The left out some of the most crucial elements of the book and didn't think twice about it.

Yeah but the overuse of swearing

The 'scene' at the end of the book

The sex scenes

The rotting, dead people

The movie was 4 hours long, but it was a two part television movie, most people can't sit that long

I personaly wouldn't mind a remake that was longer, more detailed, scarier, etc.

As long as Tim Curry played Pennywise again
His best role

I've always thought that they should do a Lord of The Rings kind of thing with it. Release the first part and then a year later release the second part then a year later.... I think that it would do well at the theaters. It might not break any records but I think it would do well enough. They should get Eli Roth to write the screen play under King's supervision and do it like that...

But The Lord of The Rings, are different books

True this book could have been two books or so,
One as adults, one as kids

But everything is intertwined to where they couldn't make it into two movies

But maybe if there was a Part 1, at the end of the title or something
