Really? Transformers for the BEST of ALL time?
Well you will change your mind someday, because there are movies that are much better in all aspects and age will make you realize that one.
But it is your opinion and thats why this type of question has no real answer. There are wrong answers, but no definitive right one.
I am thinking Braveheart, The Shining, The Last Samurai, or 300.
There are too many really good movies, but those come to mind and they tie in my head for now.

IMHO I think 300 is the best! so far.. The actions scenes were amazing, the plot amazing, the movie(quality) c.g.i stuff were amazing. Just overall the best movie! so far...

I mean yeah transformers was good, but to all the people who never watched the cartoon back in the day or just didn't know what transformers were about. Didn't experience the movie as well others and were a bit lost..

300 was NOT the best movie of ALL TIME. Are you serious? It doesn't even have a plot, guys. Come on. How about some great piece of cinematography like citizen kane, Lord of the Rings, original star wars, etc. Seriously, people.

Well, I believe Scarface was a drag at times as I did the Godfather series. Overrated, just my opinion.
The Birds was just good for its time and does have its place in greatness as does Psycho.
300 is a revolution as was the Matrix.
I mean Rambo took the military man and made a rogue hero out of him.
Rocky made a hero out of ordinary boxing man.
Gladiator made for the best vengeance and struggle to the top movie.
Close Encounters of the Third Kind and ** made for ground breaking alien based movies.
Star Wars was way ahead of their time and not one of them have made this list yet.
There are too many ground breakers to name an all time except for yourself really.

Actually it did have a plot. It is based off the historical plot of the real 300 spartans that have been played out in many movies before it.
it history told with a graphic novel twist. No plot, come on now.

Transformers was spectacular, phenomenal, amazing. I thought it was all hype, but the movie kept me going then entire time. One of the best movies ever, but not the best. There isn't a "best" movie. They're all too different (in a way), and best is a very ambiguous term.

EDIT: 300 was not that great. It just had a lot of gore and men in skimpy outfits...

Oh people. Transformers to those of us who grew up on them was not all that. Really it was not. 300 is not the played down version you all are making it out to be, even though it may not do it for you.
Transformers was flawed.
Optimus Prime was a wuss and sucked in combat.
Megatron was not the gun, a walther P38.
Bumblebee was not the VW Beetle.
There were so many issues compared to the animated and comic book versions that it can get annoying.
I did like it though, but I am making the point that you're putting a film that has little to do with movie greatness on a platform it cannot stand on compared to some of the real greats that laid the foundations and created new styles of filming.

I think it's all just perspective. I have heard many times over how there were several errors in the movie, but it was still a 10 out of 10 . I know several people who grew up with it (I'm still young) and they were the ones who forced me to watch it. I didn't think it would be good at all, but I was very mistaken. I was kind of surprised at how one-sided the battle seemed throughout the movie, though.

Your so right how could I forget Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars. But still 300 was a great movie. Lord of the Rings was a great trilogy. I guess you can say their really isn't a best movie of all time.. just a bunch of really good ones.

Some of these threads make me realize that even though I'm only 24 years old, I'm an old man compared to some internet dwellers.

Really? Transformers? 300? POKEMON? ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Anyone here ever see Casablanca? Gone With The Wind? Goodfellas? The Godfather? Silence Of The Lambs? Patton? Deliverance? Citizen Kane? My Left Foot? No Country For Old Men? All of those movies (and thousands of others) individually, are better than almost every other movie suggested in this thread put together.

Ryan, I am nearly 27 and I voted for 300. Casablanca, Gone With the Wind, Citizen Kane...maybe greats in the cinematic books but are boring and not my style so I will not agree.
The Godfather...okay, but not a great one to me...but a great in the movie books.
No Country for Old Men...man that just came out so that does not count in the "age" point you're making.
Silence of the Lambs, alright, I'm on board with that one.
You forgot The Sound of Music on your list. It seems like that fits with what you're going for.

But really 300 as well as the Matrix I don't consider really revolutionary cause they came somewhere else; 300 was originally a historic based comic like Superman and Spiderman but without the history stuff and it still hasn't been on this revolutionary best list either, so what it wasn't a mainstream comic like Supes and Spider but if 300 then Supes 40's and 50's? and beyond and Spider too. And the Matrix is revolutionary cause of what? slow motion moving basically really-and that was modeled after from Ghost In A Shell, Matrix just got more attention.
Star-Wars was original and just happened randomly; shaped a century in its view of sci-fi future aspects.
Scarface was real; shaped a century in its view of real life and the real events of the time and same can go for The Godfathers
Psycho was simply hororiffic even though based off cerial killer Gein-I think: shaped a century in its revolutionary way to tell a scary story without gore same can be applied for The Birds.

Well, to be frankly honest, my choices shift from movie to movie.
How many times does your favorite get replaced with something else you just saw that was awesome to you? Then you have a new favorite until the next one you come across.
The question is loaded in the fact that there are too many good movies to pin point one. Plus, its all opinion.
No one will ever have the same list because everyone connects to the movies for different reasons and dislikes others for other reasons.
I just never liked gangster movies or mafia stuff. It bored me. I hated the whole series of The Sopranos.
I only kind of like The Untouchables.
On a side note, remember Robinhood Prince of Thieves and Tombstone?
I just thought about those.
