I've seen people doing that and honestly I feel that it's ridiculous that Microsoft has left us stranded with this.

when they start selling whole episodes of tv shows and whatnot, they'll probably have a firmware update which would possibly include a more organized video section similar to the music page on the zune.. Why?? because right now MS has no official way to sell major video content to the zune, and until they do, there is no real reason for people to have 50+ videos on their zunes without rippind dvds or downloading stuff that would otherwise be bought.. Just saying...

The fact that there is a video section in the first place, plus the fact that the device came with an 80GB harddrive, is enough of a reason for Microsoft to provide us with a categorized video section. It doesn't matter that they don't sell videos themselves. They boast the device's capability to play videos so there is a reason for people to have tons of video content on the device. Ripping DVDs is very simple and plenty of people do it. You say it like it's not a common process. It's done all the time for the purpose of backing up movies and/or putting them on portable devices. Microsoft knows this, which is why I still say that it's ridiculous that they've left the video section how it is.

This may all be true, but DVD ripping involves the use of decrypting an encryption placed there by the movie industry in order to copy-protect the movie, and even making a backup copy or putting it into a portable device, simple or not, is still technically illegal... last I checked.(not the copying of the movie for backup purposes, but rather the bypassing of the security features.)

I understand that, but it still doesn't excuse such a shortcoming in a video/music player.
