Smile Watching Movies

im taking a film class at school and we're supposed to pay attention to camera movement and editing and stuff...............do you actively pay attention to that kind of stuff in movies? or do you just try to enjoy it w/o thinking about it?

im still having trouble focusing on teh movements and filming and stuff bc i get too caught up in the action and story. we are currently watching jaws.

I have made movies before with my friends and it is all depending on the movie you are making

you need to know your strengths and weaknesses and list them first

Find the good actors or the ones that best suit there position

animated movies arent that hard to make

Camera angle always sets the mood

If you can't hear the actor your movie will suck

Here is an animated one me and my friend made

When I watch movies I focus greatly on those things. Bad camera work and editing really bugs me. However I've seen movies that screwed up in those two categories and were still enjoyable.

it depends how many times i watch a movie. if the movie is good enough to watch twice, the second time through i pay attention to those little details.

I subconsciously seem to notice the camera maneuvering and such, but I always try to let the film envelope me, so I can actually enjoy it.

the more movies i watch, the more i pay attention to composition. when something like framing is off, it really stands out to me

I don't really notice these things, but I imagine if they were done poorly I would notice them more.

If you want to see dodgy filming watch Miami Vice, the camera's shaking all over the place.
