So I'm sure you've probably heard
there's no ZunePhone device on the way, but there's where there may be a silver lining. While it's clear there won't be any SideKick-styled Zune-branded phone coming to CES this January, this still leaves the door open to
Project Pink - the rumored marriage of Zune and Windows Mobile. And if this happens, there could be a ZunePhone after all... hear me out on this...
Think of it like this: Take the "Google" phone for example. Google's Android isn't the phone, it's the operating system. HTC made the G1, and many phone manufacturers are said soon to follow - but it will be Andriod running those phones. While over time, they all can't be called the "Google" phone, the initial G1 Phone has had this distinction, no matter how wrong you may think it is. Now let's move back to Windows Mobile.
Project Pink could still make an appearance at CES, but (disappointingly) not how
many most of you think. They could introduce a new platform for Zune to be utilized via Windows Mobile.
Maybe Windows Mobile 6.5? In any case, the news of no device is, yet again, a huge let down, Zune may find itself on mobile phones in ways we didn't expect, and it may find itself on one this January.
Now as Justananomoly put it: cue Simple Plan's Untitled Lyrics (sad music) and Read: Gizmodo -
