If your device is not being detected by the zune software then you have other problems somewhere.
zAuto Unlocker can only work if your zune is detected by the zune software.

for some weird reason my zune if forever unlocked w/o the need to sync/zauto unlocker software. On my vista 32bit system: installed the hdpatch, folder.jpg patch, i get two zunes in my explorer. unplug zune, restarted computer, plug zune in and i can still transfer/delete files from the zune without starting the zune software...go figure ..=/

Every time I plug in my Zune I get this error in 32bit Vista - it worked the first time I tried it but now every time I plug it in I get this and it won't even see the Zune.

please check your zAutoRunAfterSync.ini
make sure the contents look like this:

I get the same error as JetPilot above:

I'm using 64-bit Vista. And zAutoRunAfterSync.ini is how you said it should be.

I'm pretty sure that I'm getting the same error as crispy where my zune just stays connected without "syncing" on the screen.

The first time I did it, I got it to work. Every attempt after that was with just "connected".

I unzooned a couple times and reinstalled everything. even reset my zune a couple of times but no luck

I have had no problems myself, I just tried a complete fresh install using the new 1.7 installer and everything worked for me on the first try.

Hi,

I've got a very odd problem, whenever I connect my zune zAuto Unlocker opens up but then seems to get in some sort of loop and keeps opening up more instances of itself until i kill it using the task manager. Could this be because my software (both zAU and the zune software) are installed in my h:/program files/ folder?

I have the Same problem sometimes it syncs and sometime it does not. Most of the time it does not.

When installed into the zune program directory zune.exe will be renamed zune.orig.exe, and zAuto Unlocker is named Zune.exe
Sounds like you may have the runafter.ini configured to run zune.exe after unlock.

You should be able to set the unlock delay to a value that will work 99% of the time. Try adjusting this to a value that is more reliable on your machine.

I have updated to version 1.8 , it now works with the newest zune software.

I am running Vista Ultimate 32bit. Everything seems to be working properly, but for some reason i an umable to delete files off my zune without getting the error "the device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected."

When i plug in my Zune, the Zune software does not automatically start. When i start the software manually the hack works perfect, and puts my zune in sync mode just like it's supposed to. At that point i'm supposed to be able to delete/add/edit whatever....correct? I'm running zAuto-Unlocker-Install.1.8.

Am i missing something?

FYI: my .ini file is set as suggested, i have double checked it.

Try adjusting the kill delay, it may be killing the zune program before the device is completely unlocked, or after the sync has started to close.

Or it could be a problem with vista, i have never tried it on vista myself.

Major props on this sweet little app! It's SO much better than anything M$ could put out. My ONE question is this: when adding album art with MM, should I add it to the tag or the folder? Does it matter? Will the album art show on my zune 30 if I add it to the tag?
