Doesn't work.

same as above failed and says contact XXX

But isnt it supposed to be version 4.0 and not 3.0?

edit: OK the ziped file is the old version of 3.0, the exe you can download from the Confirmed section is a newer version of 3.0 that has a check box for WMP 11. But still neither version works still getting the same fail contact e-mail thing.

Same here except I only have a Zune 30

All of you:

Try restarting your computer, run the hack and then plug in your Zune and see if it works.

You might also try running "Windows Update" as I believe a major reason that it isn't working for some people is they don't have the most up-to-date portable device drivers put out by windows.

Zune 30, new FW & SW
have .Net Framework 2.0
Ran winup, and am up to date
XP SP2
ZuneBusEnum.exe is running(comes back when I exit it)
checked the box for wmp11
tried the prog from Program Files\Zune\ and My Documents

still failed

Same issue as everyone above and i also tried rebooting and running the patch as instructed, however i did notice after the patch was ran and i connect zune, it now gives me a QUICK 'double beep' and also the zune software does not open, if i open the zune software manually the software acts as if the device is not connected at all.

BTW... i must also add, cause this may be important to your fix but since it has failed i went back in and restarted the patch program and 'UN-Patched' it and it is back to normal now, the zune software starts up when zune is attached. Upon patching AND unpatching i had the WMP 11 box checked both times.

Thanks for your feedback Mystakilla, I'll correct those issues immediately and attempt to determine the patch doesn't work for certain people.

For those who don't mind, could you all list:
Your OS
Any Microsoft software you have installe
What Adobe Acrobat Version (if any) is installed
What Flash version (if any) is installed

Thanks and hopefully we can get this working for everyone.

For all those who the patch has failed, please download the new version and try it. I think it may work better now.

Ok mine is working, still 2 icons for the Zune but, 2 is better then none. lol Not sure what you did different but, thanks.

To continue from my last post if you remember i unpatched it with the program berdon made, and everything was back to normal, so from there i decided to go in and change it manually in regedit.

I searched for the "PortableDeviceNameSpaceExclude" in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet001\Enum\USB\ and changed the values as follows:

EnableLegacySupport to 1
PortableDeviceNameSpaceExcludeFromShell to 0
ShowInShell to 1

then after you do that hit F3 to go to the next find and keep chaning them until it says it cant find any more. Shouldnt be more then two if you only have one zune, i had to change 4 of them.

Even though i get the two icon's in explorer i dont care atleast it works now. Im sure berdon will be able to incorporate this into his program somehow though to make it easier for you guys.

Ok I installed sucessfully, but how do I put files onto my zune if I'm using it as a hard drive?
