To do this, you have to first get IDA Pro. I have had this program for a while, but I didn't figuree out how to set it for the Zune until I recently read up on the device (Wikipedia :P).
Instructions: 1. Open IDA Pro (I use the 64-bit version) 2. Open one of the .dll's from the Zune boot files 3. A dialogue box should pop up asking you to specify some perameters. For the Zune .dll's, yousould have it set up as a "portable ARM executable" (top box) for use on a "ARM" cpu (second box down). When selecting the CPU type, don't forget to click "Set" after doing so. 4. A dialogue box will pop up saying it can't translate something. Probably important, but ignore it for now. 5. You should now be able to see a very basic view of the coding of the .dll. You can't actually get any icons or anything out of it, but if you go to the "Names" tab, you should be able to get a good idea of what's in the .dll I suggest using the "quartz.dll" in the NK folder. It seems to contain all of the music genras and a bunch of other stuff, like a clock and whatever. Could someone who knows a bit more about this stuff have a look at it? Apart from the english portions, I have no idea what I am looking at ??? |
