Default Getting Into Photography Now.

Well I've wanted a really nice camera for a while now and I've told everyone in my family several times. I've got several electronics already so I figured they felt it was just something else that I wanted. Anyway, my grandmother surprised me and purchased a Canon Digital Rebel XT for me. It's great. I started taking pictures right away. Now that I've got over that, though, I'm starting to read informational guides online and everything. Here are some of my first photographs, though:

This Buddha sits on a shelf in our screened porch. Well, now it has walls so it's more like another room, but it's more open than the rest of the house.

My two dogs were playing and ran through my mother's rose bushes yesterday. One rose was knocked off of the stem before it could bloom fully. I decided to put it to good use and used it for some photography.

This is a statue that my mother purchased a while back. I used the same rose from my last image.

This is just some bamboo we have growing in the living room. The vibrant green and elegant shape forced me to take a picture.

EDIT:
Here's one of our Hibiscus. They have huge blooms, but they only last for two days before falling off.

This is one of my dogs. Her name is Ferra and we adopted he last year around Thanksgiving I believe. She's a little over two years old.

The last picture for my first photography post is one of one of our roses getting ready to bloom. We're really big on having a nice yard (plants, grass, etc.), which is why I have so many plants this time. They're perfect subject matter. Thoughts?

Those pictures look good

I take photos as well, but I need to get a proper camera...

Thanks ! I love the idea of taking photographs. You can express different meanings using ordinary objects. If you have a deviantart profile you can find me here. I'm still pretty new to the site. And thanks. I figured the sig could use a new tune up!

Those are absolutely beautiful!

I'm jealous. I want a DSLR, gawd are they expensive! I've got a Fuji S700, a simple point-and-shoot, but it's alright. You can check out some of my stuff here.

Thanks . You've got some great photos. I haven't had the opportunity to get any animals except for my dogs. I almost got this huge dragonfly (not an animal, but still), but it moved away before I could get angled correctly.

Thanks!

I haven't shot anything recently. I'm thinking of going for a walk around the city sometime this summer, hopefully get some good shots.

That's pretty cool that you can do that. Atlanta is about 30-40 minutes away so I'd have to ask my mom to burn some gas . I'm going to try and go to a nearby park, though. Today I mostly read little beginner's guides online. Some of it was interesting, while some of it seemed like common sense.

Very nice pictures!

I've always liked photography, but my camera I payed $130 for hasn't gotten me very far =| Hopefully I'll get a decent job this summer and be able to get a semi-nice one. Keep up the cool pics

It's 8. All of the close-up pictures were taken with a macro lense.

That's kind of creepy. How do you know I'm not some old perve? Then would you be excited? Thank God I'm not, though. Anyway, I didn't think you wanted after you started using the one you have now. Besides, you did tell me to fail at life or something to that effect. Thanks, btw .
