File sync problem

I have been having a problem with some files in my zune library. Let me explain the situation. I converted one of my favorite audiobooks, that is only available in cassette, with Audacity into MP3 format. I synced it up with my Zune and, because I had the auto-update on the metadata(sp?) it synced the files wrong and combined two files into one. Doing some research I think that the tags were accidentally made into the same ones so that the software thinks that they are the same and eliminates the "extra" file. I have looked into using Microsofts Zune media reset tool but IDK how it will affect my Zune, computer, or if it will fix the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

One thing you could do, is find where you saved those 2 files and right click one and choose properties and edit the tags that way, and then readd the file into the Zune Software. That should fix the problem.

I think a bit better solution is to edit the tags in real tag editing software. Doing it via file properties might work, but is not consistent with the tag standard in all cases, and doesn't give you complete tag access anyway. Download and use MP3Tag.

Thanks for the help guys. I used mp3tag and it showed that the tags were severely messed up. I was able to clean up the tags and everything shows up correctly now and plays perfectly.
