Cant Sync with Zune, software crashes, no error message

Cant Sync with Zune, software crashes, no error message

If anyone can help me out, you'd make my month... zune support has no idea whats going on and ive tried tons of different things

here's the problem: once i plug in my zune 80 gig AND the software tries to sync with it windows (vista) pops up with a message saying that "microsoft zune has stopped working" and needs to close, no error code, no advise

after that error message pops up i can still play music, and even look at my zune though the software, but dragging music to it to sync doesnt work, and the button that says 'start sync' is grayed out

--I've reformated my zune, and strange as it is, it allows it to reinstall the firmware, but same problem once i try to sync it

---I've uninstalled my zune software using unzoone and used microsoft.com zune download to reinstall, same problem

--Now im about %90 sure this problem started when i installed zune 3.0, and installed the new (3.0) firmware on my zune, but who knows it could be a windows update that is messing with me.

anyone have any ideas at all??

you reformatted the zune using the software or using that other combination that i can't remember right now srry if you say that you suspect that it is when you installed 3.0 try to find the 2.5 software and firmware and install that and see how it goes.

2.5 firmware:zune 2.5 firmware

software: i will find it for you i may have it on my computer.

what i meant was do that combination and then when the 2.5 software is installed then you run the 2.5 firmware to the zune.

Yeah, but that file will not actually load to the Zune, the Zune software does it for you. It's the only way.

Well thanks,

I uninstalled zune and wiped my device, used unzoone,
restarted my comp

installed 2.5, and then the software installed 2.5 firmware onto my zune

and ta-da! i can sync with my zune now!!!

the only problem: i cant play music on my comp with my zune software, when i click on a song all it says at the bottom is opening... and it never does

(yet the songs that synced to my zune work great)

looks like ill be using wmp untill a new friggin update comes out, unless you people have any idea
