hi
i noticed that if i have an album that's not by 1 single artist, the album shows up multiple times on the album list. i have never had an media player that sorts an album 20 times if theres 20 artists on it this means that i cant select 1 single album and listen to it if it contains more than 1 artist. is tehre a way to group each album to just 1 heading? i have too many albums to manually do this : ( thx Last edited by jungle_man10000 : 09-26-2008 at 12:11 AM. |

Hey, I just spent a day fixing all my album art and sorting everything so I painfully know what you're going through.
You can assign an "Album Artist"... which is separate to song artist. So select all the songs you want to put into 1 album, right click and edit 'Album artist' and all your songs should be organised right. Edit 'Album Title' too just in case. It fixes the issue of songs which have the artist featuring someone else, also if you have a compilation, you can put it under Various Artists and they still work under the 1 album. But compilations do not work correctly in the Zune, so if you really care about hearing things in order, its better to separate the discs ie. Big Tunes 3 (Disc 1), Big Tunes 3 (Disc 2).. It'll appear on your zune as separate albums, which really annoys me, but thats the only way it will work for now. It works fine in the software however... so it beats me. A god send is "Find Album Info"... You can do that for 1 of the songs and then select the rest of the songs from the albums and then drag it into the correct Album, and all those will be organised under the correct album. Or simply drag all except 1 of the albums/tracks into that 1 remaining track and all those dragged items will go under the album artist and title of the album you dragged them into. I'm semi confused now but I hope that made sense! It takes a fair bit of work, but you will be rewarded with a less cluttered music library. ![]() ![]() |

You may need to do a wipe of your zune and re-do it. I found that I had doubles on my zune even though I had changed updated the info. Maybe due to the fact that I had it on my zune before the update. If you had to on manual sync, it may have thought the one on your zune was separate and just added the new album as a different one. Apart from re-doing all of your songs, theres not much else I think I can help you with.
Good luck champ ![]() ![]() |
