Can not install Zune software - my msi.dll is newer than required...

Hi everybody - So sorry my first message here has to look this way ... I really need some help here ...

While trying to install Zune Software on my XP Pro SP3 (+ updates) I got this message:

System updates required
Zune software installation can't continue until you've installed one or more required updates.

Windows Update must be updated to run this program.

Error message when you try to install the Zune software: "System update required"

After a little bit of research I found out that it expects to find this version of msi.dll : 3.1.4000.2435 (MS Installer 3.1 v2).

But what I have in my system (xp sp3 + some updates) is 3.1.4001.5512

If I try to run KB893803 (second version) I get another encouraging message:

Setup has detected that the service pack version of this system is newer than the update you're applying.

There is no need to install this update.
--------------------------------------------------------------

So I suppose I have to uninstall somehow the Microsoft Installer and re-install the required version (KB893803 v2) - if this is right, please tell me how I can do this or maybe there is another simpler solution for this ????

nobody has any advice on this??? That is really amazing... Goddammit, I think I am going to give it back ...
